Nature has always been a big part of my songwriting since I was a teenager, it’s grandeur and complexity are an endless pool on which I draw inspiration. In moments of distress I might draw on it’s pure calm and natural rhythms. Sometimes I’d attempt to channel its chaos or violence into my music and lyrics. Fire, rain, trees, sky, frost and the changing of the seasons have all featured heavily in my songs and often sit side by side with whatever emotion I’m trying to convey. There is still so much to be explored with nature because ultimately it’s bigger and older than all of us and that idea still excites me and motivates me to write.  Nick
