Adam Beyer’s Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno’s number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary. 

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn’t fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label’s established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode’s multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional. 

Led by the stealth techno funk of ‘Nine of You’, Beyer’s deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck. 

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O’Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016. 

Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

Hot on the heels of the A-Sides Volume 5 compilation, Enrico Sangiuliano makes his return to Drumcode with his highly anticipated EP ‘Moon Rocks’. The heavy hitting four track EP shines a light on Sangiuliano’s tight, thundering production skills. The hoover heavy lead track ‘Moon Rocks’ is packed with booming percussion, intricate synths and brooding crescendos. The EP encapsulates Sangiuliano’s wide spectrum of sounds ranging from the fat bass line of ‘Moon Rocks’ to the more delicate harmonies shown within the ‘Dutch Kiss’ mixes whilst ‘Ghettoblaster’ sits somewhere in between.

KataHaifisch Live @Konception - Søren Ossenkop "Morgenstund" Closing Set

Wir können es immer noch nicht ganz und gar realisieren...
Der letzte Freitag, die achte Konception, war bis dato definitiv der Höhepunkt.
Es hat einfach alles gepasst vom ersten Nebelshoot bis zum letzten Schweißtropfen. 
Rundum ein Goldstück das sich sehen lassen kann. 

Gestern gab es bereits das Closing Set zu hören. 
Heute folgt die kleine Star Wars Einlage konzipiert und ausgefeilt von meiner Wenigkeit.

Dieses Set ist sehr persönlich, persönlicher als sonst.
Mit dieser Komposition konnte ich mir einen kleinen Traum erfüllen.
Seitdem ich denken kann bin ich ein riesengroßer Star Wars Fan.
Über die Filme, Bücher, das Lego und vieles mehr bin ich dieser Leidenschaft jahrelang nachgegangen.

Nun ist es mir gelungen diese Passion in meine Musik einzubetten.
Ich hoffe euch gefällt die Mischung aus gradlinigem Techno und einem Hauch Sciene Fiction.

Was ist das für ein Tag Team?
Was ist das für ein krankes Tag Team?!
Rückblick:
Bereits bei ihrem ersten Gig lieferten die beiden Jans überdimensional ab!
Ließen sich bejubeln, brachten die Stimmung zum kochen und gaben 100%.
Letzten Freitag konnten sie genau da anknüpfen wo sie bei der 6. aufhörten.
Die Messlatte noch ein Stück höher gesetzt, transzendente Flügel wachsen lassen.
Ein Schlagabtausch mit edelsten Waffen. 
Musikalisch auf dem neuesten Stand, exotisch und versehen mit ihrer ganz speziellen Note.
Erinnert mich ein bisschen an Merry und Pippin, auf dem besten Weg 2 gestandene Krieger zu werden.
Auf der Flagge das Techno Emblem und mittig rechts oben plaziert ab heute nun auch das KataHaifisch Logo.
Denn ab heute sind die beiden offiziell Mitglieder von der KataHaifisch Crew.
Ein Weg/Prozess der seine Zeit brauchte. 
Doch nun sind sie Teil von unserer  Vision, nach der 8 endgültig zementiert und in Stein gemeißelt. 
Wir freuen uns und sind stolz wie Honigkuchen Pferde die beiden an Bord zu haben! ❤

Bigasti was born in the eighties and developed his passion for music during his childhood and by playing the drums with his brother.
Without musical education but driven by his sheer interest in electronic music he started around producing in 2013 – an appreciated contrast to his daily routine in the office of a multinational cooperation. This was the year the project “Bigasti” was born. Since then, he spends a lot of his spare time producing.

After one year Bigasti released his first track in 2014 on the France based INLAB recordings. In 2016, he released a free track on the renowned German music community KLANGEXTASE, an EP on Electronical Reeds and an EP on Kuukou Records with his german friend and producer Moe Danger.

He takes his inspiration from nature and wild areas. His fascination of mystic nature sceneries is reflected in his dark melodies and mellow beats integrated in a unique atmospheric style.

In summer 2015 and together with his Swiss Friend Floloco he started Schirmchendrink, a quickly growing electronic underground music podcast and soon record label.
