Belgian-Greek artist Naethan debuts on Kiosk ID with ‘Katy’—a bold, electro-acoustic two-tracker that blends highly textured dance music with glitched-out synth work and fluttering, ethereal melodies. Instead of polished shine, Naethan leans into raw, emotional immediacy, coaxing up a one-of-a-kind soundscape—nuanced, eclectic, and with powerful soul and grit.   The title track, ‘Katy’, is a mangled, melodic ballad driven by a beautifully engineered, wildly pitching lead, soulful organs, and warm, hymnal low-end. Constantly evolving through subtle microshifts and technical finesse, Katy unspools and rearranges itself in real time, culminating in an explosion of arcing synth contortions framed by a slow-burning four-to-the-floor beat.   On ‘Hybrid Catalysis’, Naethan sets a choppy break against mournful leads, squelchy bass figures, and airy pads. Cavernous, tactile drum chops and textures form a heavy, physical undercurrent, while shimmering chimes and dub chords ripple across the frequency spectrum—spacious, angelic, and gently suspended over growling, low-end throb.   After a decade releasing under another moniker, Naethan’s alter ego was meant to return him to his roots in emotionally charged dance music. MiZi MuZiK no. 4 delivers a coolly ecstatic, groove-driven collaboration between Madrid’s Landikhan and Berlin-based icon Mira, with a hypnotic interpretation by Ed Ed. Equal parts rhythm-centric shmasher and chord-heavy reminiscence, ‘I’m Still Here’ draws on a rich sonic spectrum to deliver a period EP filled with beautifully arcing warehouse euphoria and playful Funk.

The title track ‘I’m Still Here’ is a vibrant fusion of classic chord ecstasy, warehouse-ready energy arcs, and throbbing Dembow undercurrents. Set against a sonorous kick and booming tomtom groove, Mira and Landikhan marry cool, funky dancefloor elegance with cycling patterns of escalating chord chops. The result is timeless and captivating: flurries of tactile chords and dynamic drum patterns revolve in mid-air—a brightly blazing groove totem to guide the night.

‘We Drop the Ball’ pivots the mood to heavyweight—and beautifully impromptu—Funk. Anchored by squelching, blown-out bass themes and Disco-infused drums, ‘We Drop the Ball’ unveils an intensely tactile playfulness. Deceptively casual in its session-like flow, Mira and Landikhan push the track’s elements to a towering apogee. It’s raw, beautifully engineered, and crucially, it bumps.

Ed Ed recasts ‘We Drop the Ball’ as a deep, immersive dancefloor seance with a sub-heavy core. Draping his rendition in ghostly vapour, Ed Ed transforms the original’s galvanic chords into a haze of swirling atmospheres broken by flashing flickers of transient, heavily effected synths. Dark, sensual, and powerfully hypnotic, Ed Ed dips the original into a vast pool of slow-burning bliss.

Bringing together nostalgic depth and rhythmic sophistication, ‘I’m Still Here’ seamlessly blends Mira’s and Landikhan’s distinct styles. It’s an eclectic take on dancefloor energy that transports both a sense of sonic refinement and the ad hoc joy of creative invention.

Berlin-based duo Brigade returns with their sophomore effort, having spent the intervening years refining their approach to sample-based composition. Where 2022's "Hard Times, Soft Music" established their credentials as purveyors of comfort food electronics, „Unlimited Dreams Corporation“ finds the pair digging deeper into the archives, constructing elaborate sonic collages from decades of discarded vinyl. The fictional corporate framework, a company peddling bespoke dream experiences, works as an aesthetic guide, appropriate for 2025.

The fourteen tracks unfold with the patience of bedroom producers who understand that the best plunderphonic work happens in the margins. Brigade layers found sounds and field recordings with careful restraint, creating pockets of warmth that invite repeated listening. The broken beat rhythms feel lived-in rather than showy, while the more ambient moments provide necessary breathing room. It's headphone music that rewards attention without demanding it, the kind of record that reveals new details months after initial discovery.
