This track proved quite challenging to edit, so I decided to record it in several versions. 
Version number 5 is a kind of electronic mishmash of styles with several overlapping and repetitive rhythms.

Hitting the heights on a regular basis, over 800 production credits sit proudly next to Michael A's name for the likes of Sudbeat, Mango Alley and Replug. Particles and Proton Music have also been a regular home for the Belarusian with a further three original EPs between February 2017's "Bright Hope" debut and May 2019's "Geometria". Returning with "Twinkling Stars", the title track is a typically impressive affair with deep, rolling groove and seismic bass prowess. Building with ease a smooth arpeggio drifts into sonic range with its glittering delays. Aptly titled, shimmering motifs glisten across the track's powerful rhythmic framework, juxtaposed elegantly against the lighter melodic elements. "Vibrance" continues Michael A's penchant for deep bass prowess, anchored tightly to an exquisite shuffling percussive top-line that adds dancefloor dynamism. Before long, a simple motif comes into play to add hypnotic texture while sumptuous pads supply depth and intrigue that build into a post-breakdown illustrating Michael's skill and craft.

Matty Doyle is a modern production heavyweight. Through his Matter moniker, the Australian has built a sizeable reputation for himself with a plethora of high-profile releases and DJ performances across the globe in London, Amsterdam and his Melbourne hometown. A host of releases on Proton Music in solo and collaborative guises – often with long-term friend and production partner, GMJ – has seen Matter release music of the very highest order that saw the 2016's "Pronoia" and 2017's "We Are Dust" EPs bolster his reputation. Returning to remix Michael A after a February 2019 reworking of Embliss' "Lone Wolf", Matter takes "Twinkling Stars" on a trademark journey of power, precision and smooth bassline dominance. Using the remix parts to creative effect, combined with a bevy of additional material, the result is a sparkling offering that grows in detail with each passing minute as filters and delays open up into a glorious breakdown crescendo of melodic passion. Continuing into the latter stages with ease, the result is near nine minutes of sonic perfection.

Janko Dragovic is another name steeped in underground music history. As originally part of the Progress Inn duo, Dragovic's success under his Desaturate pseudonym is no less impressive. Moreover, collaborations with Rick Pier O'Neil, and Forniva on Particles has seen Desaturate amass an impressive collection of original music while May 2016's "The Unholy Mountain" was a high-quality 3-track solo outing. January 2018's "Wanderer" saw a powerful Proton debut as a remix of Huminal's "Macropsia" in April 2019 is now followed by a compelling reworking of "Vibrance" characterised by a smooth bouncing bassline groove and syncopated percussion. Building effortlessly using themes resonant in the original, new melodic flourishes emerge that shimmer in rich delays. Hitting its stride post-breakdown, a filtered and modulated arpeggio comes to the fore to provide a dynamic vibrancy to the latter stages.

Originals from Michael A combined with remixes from Matter and Desaturate keep "Twinkling Stars" in ascendance.

Interaxxis returns to the label with fresh music for 2020. 

For the past 7 years the Argentinian duo has worn a familiar path. Sun-drenched beats, warm melodies and devilish grooves set them apart from the crowd and releases on Selador, Hope Recordings and Balance Music cement their position among a handful of South American producers with real global appeal. 

First up is ‘Bleakness’, a sombre exploration of interconnecting melodies and textures. Stripped back percussion and a rubbery low end gives rise to playful synths, pads and FX telling their melancholy tale. Next, ‘Sikker’ draws you in with its bass power. Stark, icy sonics rally against field recordings, deep melodies and machine funk bass. Finally, ‘Inside’ featuring Paula OS is trippy downtempo left turn into the afterhours; Paula’s sobering vocals working against the dubby backdrop hypnotically.

An artist causing a buzz with his multi-faceted productions, Nopi debuts on Proton Music with his twin-track, "Parallel Words". Remixes come from Australian and US stars.

Finding himself allied to some of the most respected modern imprints with a sought-after deep house and melodic techno sound, Nopi has carved out a sizeable reputation for himself in 12 short months after a March 2019 debut for Pipe and Pochet. Since then, music for Nie Wieder Schlafen, Kindisch and Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas, has seen the Ukrainian hit the ground running. Following up on May 2020's remix of Erdi Irmak for Proton Music, Nopi now returns with a debut EP. The title track is an immaculately crafted affair that bristles with intricate percussive intent while a cast of elegant and emotive, melodic characters mingle and entwine in brilliant sonic patterns. The result is a swathe of filtered arpeggios, textured pads and counterpoint motifs that evolve over a 7-minute piece in magisterial fashion. "Liquid Week" continues the delicate percussive framework as fizzing hi-hats form the backdrop for hypnotic melodies to develop alongside a smooth lead sequence. Hitting its stride with the wow and flutter of tape delay at the breakdown, subtle variations add depth and texture to the track.

Fresh from the launch of their Meanwhile imprint, GMJ and Matter continue to find themselves permanent fixtures in the upper echelons of the underground dance scene. Prolific and talented, the pair's solo and collaborative work has become a central component of the Proton Music catalogue with their "Superposition", "Osmosis" and "Interscope" EPs. Remixes for Andre Sobota, Rudy and Juan Deminicis' "Tao the King" in April 2019, are now complemented by a stunning interpretation of "Parallel Words". Turning Nopi's track into a pulsating progressive house gem, a driving beat and rolling percussive groove supply the framework for white-noise washes and multi-layered pads to sweep across the stereo spectrum. Making its mark in a powerful third movement, echoes from the original cascade through the mid-range to typically mesmerising effect.

Founder of the highly regarded Manjumasi imprint alongside Atish, Mark Slee is a renowned name across the clubs and bars of his San Francisco home with notable appearance further afield in New York and Berlin. With more than two decades experience in the realm of electronic music, the US artist has developed a distinctive musical identity that has seen him feature on an array of high-profile imprints that include Looq Records, Cityfox and Seven Villas. Becoming a regular on Proton Music with remixes for Oliver Lieb, Navar and Rudy, Slee's "Veranda" EP in July 2020 showcased three original tracks full of ingenuity and musical craftsmanship. Returning to remix Nopi, the Mark Slee interpretation is full of the poise and grace that has become such a staple of his work. Building through chunky rhythmic groove, melodic echoes of Nopi's original emerge through a free-flowing electric organ that wends itself through the "Dry Ice Dub Mix" in melodic exploration. Extended delays ripple effortlessly while effects and sub-bass add weight.

Sparkling original tracks and remixes from GMJ and Matter and Mark Slee have Nopi revelling in "Parallel Words".

Nōpi - Parallel Words (GMJ & Matter remix)

Greek-born Simos Tagias has made significant progress since breaking into the scene back in 2012 and developing, since then, a fluid and rolling style that has been supported by an army of high profile fans and peers alike. 

Opening his Sudbeat debut is the title track ‘Crater’ where deep beats and strings allude to the tension that’s just over the hill. Low slung grooves keep your feet locked on the dance floor and melodics creep into earshot leading to an epic break and driving conclusion. 
Next up, ‘Bracer’ opens with a jangling percussive vibe and spiky bass notes. Gathering pace throughout, the main musical motifs reveal themselves in the powerful main break. 
Finally, ‘Neutron’ thunders from the gate with huge, rotund kick drums and sparkly arps. Driving forward to the first break, a sonic maelstrom begins to form. One for the peak-time floors for sure.

Nigel was resident DJ at Renaissance UK from 1992-2008. He moved to Sydney, Australia in 2008 and dropped out of the music scene for 10 years. 
In 2018 he came back to his passion and started to enjoy the music again and got involved with doing mixes , including Balance. 
He concentrated his own monthly radio show hosted on Proton Radio called Spatial that  ended after 3 years.
