Sine Ra, concurrently Hilal Omar Al Jamal, is an electronic music aficionado, author, creator, loving husband, former peddler and hoodlum, polyglot, collector of curiosities, and wanderer, who currently lives in the Midwest by way of Los Angeles, California, Arcata, California, and São Paulo, Brazil. He is affiliated with the Los Angeles based record label Folktale Records. The name he has assumed, Sine Ra, recalls the musical influence of experimentalist and poet Sun Ra while representing the former's identification with the purity and inventiveness of analog music synthesis.
