RSF Polykobol : enregistré en 2 pistes.

* 1 / Improvisation de nappes avec un peu plus loin l'arpégiateur mis en sous couche
        et joué en temps réel avec les nappes.
* 2 / Piste de modulation et sons ambiant très léger.

Voici ou probablement la meilleure démonstration que j'ai pu faire à ce jour pour ce synthétiseur. Merci de la regarder (pour la video), l'écouter et je vous en remercie par avance. Avec toute ma sincère amitié à tous.

* Ceci est une totale improvisation. Je n'ai ajouté que très peu de choses sur la 2éme piste.
L'on pourrait croire qu'il y a plusieurs machines...
Et bien non, ce n'est que le Polykobol... lui seul !

- La création de sonorité ambiante a était faite avec une large programmation de morphing des formes d'ondes.
Seule une reverb a était utilisée et un delay pour l'arpégiateur.
Le fait de faire des variations des formes d'ondes avec l'enveloppe donne l'illusion d'avoir un phaser :)
La calibration des OSC's a donner suite à cet enregistrement. Le son est tout simplement magnifique.
Déjà que 4 voies ça sonne très massif... Alors 8... et 16 oscillateurs en tout !...

Well no, it's only the Polykobol sounds :)

- The creation of ambient sounds was made ​​with a large range programming morphing waveforms.
Only a reverb was used & a delay effect for arpeggiator later.
The variations of waveforms with envelope gives the illusion of having a phaser :)
The calibration of OSC's has done today for this recording. The sound is simply beautiful.
With 4 voices it's already a very fat sounds... So 8... with 16 oscillators !...

" NightBirds ", duo de musique électronique / expérimentale, originaire du sud de la France créé à la fin de l’année 1985.

L’idée de départ est née d’une simple phrase :  " créer la musique que l’on aurait aimé entendre ".
Le ton est ainsi lancé.

Le groupe ira dans la direction d’achats de multiples synthétiseurs analogiques, un monde sans mémoire et pour une création sonore infinie.
Leurs influences sont larges, mais pour seul point commun : le synthétiseur.

De 85 à 91 : ils enregistrent une multitude de démos sur K7 audio et bandes magnétiques afin de trouver un style propre à eux-mêmes. A cette occasion, ils finalisent leur première K7, un album (fin 89) : " GEODE ".
Le projet " Géode " est un des aboutissements de recherches et d’idées de leur musique, mais également une ouverture pour le style que les " NightBirds " vont se créer.
Le 26 juin 1993 : participation au festival " Electronic Waves " (Paris).
Suite à ce concert : de nombreux travaux sur bandes, continuité dans la recherche, l’expérimentation, mais aussi études sur les synthétiseurs et leur possibilité sur de nouvelles créations.
1994 : nouveaux travaux sur la bande de démo " Géode " et remasterisation.
Réalisation d’un mini album sur K7 : " Tree Birds ", jamais édité ou distribué.
En octobre 1995, ils donnèrent un concert de 2h30 au " Palais des Congrès du Cap d’Agde " : musiques improvisées et séquences sont au programme...

" Nightbirds " is a french duo founded in 1985 by twin brothers who are interested in new electronic music.

At the very beginning, the original idea was to release an album late in 1985 with the few instruments they had. So Came their first self-produced album " Géode ".
After some years, " Nightbirds " presented their project live in 1993, at the " Electronic Waves " festival in Paris (France).
After this performance, the band studied electronic music instruments and mastering techniques.

The music of " Nightbirds " is like a picture of sounds full of ambiances, minimalism and electroacoustic events.
The band could be identified by the creation of long pieces like a gallery where artists could meet each other.

Their music in now known through self-produced releases and through some contributions like the " Dreamwatchers' Tales " series.

I've been making electronic music since I bought my first synth (a Juno-60) and a Tascam 4-track way back in about 1986. I work with singer-songwriters and performance artists, and compose for modern dance and theatre.
