"I think it has something with genetics. I have been drawn to music all my life, although my parents, both musicians, didn’t approve of it when I was a child, because they were afraid it would not bring me material success. For me, music is a light that I want to strive for. I am inspired by the music of other musicians, and create my music based on what I listen to, and hopefully inspire someone else as well. When I play in clubs and people like it there is an exchange of energy happening, my soul is alive at that moment and it’s like a path to something light. It’s spiritual growth in a way and that’s what you want to strive for. It’s a difficult time. Because of the war me and my family had to go abroad, our city was occupied in the first days of the war. My flat and my parents’ house were both destroyed. My family and I had to flee to save our lives. And music is the outlet for my feelings." - @Dibe

@Dustyard is a French DJ and producer based in Nantes, who started music at a very young age with a classic training in piano and guitar. He has been producing electronic music for more than a decade now, delivering Deep Tech House to Minimal Dub tracks that have been released on reference labels such as Berg Audio, Bondage Music, Rawsome Deep, Simple Things, Zingiber Audio… and are played by artists like Andrey Pushkarev, Janeret, Traumer, Arapu, Harrison BDP, Archie Hamilton… just to name a few. 

Let yourself go with the flow of this two-hour warm-up mix recorded by Dust Yard at Berg Audio Off Barcelona party back in June 2023. Showing us his deep and groovy universe, with a nice selection of sharp yet accessible tracks. Enjoy the ride!

1. How and where was the mix recorded?
I recorded the mix in Lisbon, my current home. It was a breeze selecting tracks from my collection, adding a touch of the city's vibrant energy to the mix.

2. Can you tell us about the idea behind the mix?

Sure! The idea behind the mix was to capture the essence of spring with a blend of new and unreleased tracks. I wanted to create a fresh and uplifting vibe that resonates with the blooming atmosphere of the season.

3. What are you up to next? Projects, ideas…

I'm thrilled about the upcoming release on Luck of Access, featuring the flawless work of my friend and incredible producer, Stojche. I had the pleasure of remixing one of his tracks, and I can't wait for everyone to hear it. Stay tuned.

4. Lastly, for you what is Dance, Shake, Swing!?

Haha, it's definitely an awesome journey that is accessible to everyone who wants it. The elevation of spirit and perfect rhythms for the feet!

DSSmix #09 - Andrey Pushkarev (Luck Of Access)

With one foot in New York fueling her creativity and influencing her in the way only New York can, and the other firmly in Berlin, her second home, exposing her to some of the best clubs in the world - Karina is one to watch our for. These two huge influences along with her international upbringing in Norway, Egypt and Poland and her creative multilingual mindset all shine brightly through her music.

10 years living and working on the famous mediterranean island of Ibiza has seen her involved with some of the biggest promoters in the music industry such as Cocoon Ibiza and Monza. An avid collector and player of all things vinyl, she is also one of the residents and creators of Ibizas most successful weekly open-air party The Zoo Project. Berlin, her second home, exposed her to its raw creativity helping her develop her production skills whilst playing at venues such as Kater Holzig, Sisyphos or Kitkat.

We're delighted to have Karina on board for our 206th edition with a fusion of minimal, house and dubs.

Introducing Maher Daniel to the One Records Mix Series. American born, Palestinian Dj Maher Daniel is no stranger to the international dance circuit. Starting his early humbling years as a resident at the infamous Stereo Montreal. 

Running his own imprint and events  "The Other Side" Maher plays regular shows with Ricardo Villalobos, Sonja Mooneer and Raresh at spots like Amnesia, Sunwaves and Unum Festival. Super happy to have this recordings from Maher of deep, minimal club grooves.
