Brazil’s Bruno Furlan returns to Hot Creations with his fresh two-track EP, ‘Bongoloco’.  

A DJ and producer whose recent studio endeavours have seen him release material on Black Book Records,  Fool’s Gold and Material, Bruno Furlan is an artist at the centre of Brazil’s recent explosion of names within the  house and tech house landscape. Based in São Paulo, the bubbling talent has built on his early experiences within  the Brazilian electronic music scene to make appearances at global events such as Dirtybird Campout and AMF  Festival. Following an impressive debut on the label with his two-track ‘The Speakers Pump Like This’, late  January brings a return to Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations imprint as he serves up two fresh dancefloor-leaning cuts  across his ‘Bongoloco’ EP.  

“After the first release on Hot Creations, ideas started to boil in my head daily, and I wondered if Jamie  would play every song I started or not. When I started ‘Bongoloco’, it was a very raw groove, and I needed  something striking, a mix between a little crazy and something that made sense in the music. I thought  about adding some percussion, but nothing was good until I came across this bongo and fell in love with  the sound of it on the track. It’s impressive how achievements improve our ideas and performances, and  my Hot Creations debut was one of those. I have no doubt ‘Bongoloco’ only exists thanks to Jamie’s first  ‘Yes’” - Bruno Furlan. 

Title track ‘Bongoloco’ takes cues from its name and showcases a skittering percussion-driven production built for  peak-time hours as warped drum fills and vibrant vocal calls inject an abundance of energy. Keeping things  moving, the rolling ‘Vai’ delivers a slick accompaniment to the package, serving up an anthem built for bustling  terraces worldwide.

 With early support from John Digweed, Dosem, Guy J, Cristoph, Gabriel Rhome, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Jody Wisternoff, Nick Warren, Darin Epsilon we are proud to present another cracker of a release by our friend and talented musician Andre Sobota. He is no stranger to the
Kyubu family, in fact, Andre released some solid tracks on our imprint back in 2014.

Our Brazilian maestro has since released records on reputable imprints like Toolroom Records, Ajundadeep and Manual Music and now blesses us with a fine two-tracker that is just right for the summer.

"Can't Remember" is an easy to listen too, melancholic house tune, that will take you on a journey to the Brazilian coastline and watch
the sun set. The swaying synths and indeginous vocals all blend into an easy to listen to house track that will surely shake some behinds in these upcoming months.

"Jump" offers a nice change of pace, building on an acid, 303 style, lead sound and some sweet eighties pads. It has an attitude of it's
own, takes it's sweet time and ties the release together quite nicely.

Looking towards the peak summer season, we are thrilled to jumpstart July with the return of Jim Rider to XYZ. The Brit is a seasoned veteran of the industry, and has been a key figure in London’s thriving scene throughout the years as both a producer and promoter.

After an extended break from the studio, Jim has revived his artistic drive in incredible fashion. Over the last six months alone, he’s had an EP on Lee Burridge’s surging Tale & Tone, a pair of productions on our Blanche VA, the launch of his own label, and a sumptuous EP on the famed Kindisch . Rider has a firm grasp on the attention of the dance community’s most influential tastemakers, as he continues to unveil a distinct studio prowess.

“krypt. vol2 is the second instalment of my ‘krypt’ EP series. It’s a mixtape-like EP, named after a ‘crypt’ (underground vault holding the remains of a person); in this case it’s my musical vault with several new + old tracks I’ve had in my unreleased catalogue. It touches various genres like the previous one, from garage stuff to a bit faster house, to slowed down nu-disco. I rarely get inspired by current music, most of the time I’m listening to records at least 15-20 years old but wondering how they would sound if they were made today.

The EP also features two songs (Never Enough, L.U.V.) with my own lead vocals, which a first for my releases thus far. I really enjoy making longer music projects which is why I’ve always gravitated towards LPs and albums, as a producer and a listener. It allows you to dive in a bit deeper in the mind of the creator and see where their emotions lie across a longer body of work. A single often doesn’t have enough power to allow you to see behind the curtain.”
