In the 2018 year, the DJs collective/platform Global Funk based in the Basque Country celebrates the 10 year anniversary. During this period they've been organizing multiple events: parties with international and local guest DJs, such as Alice Russell & TM Juke, Nickodemus, Captain Planet, Tahira, Dusty, Txarly Brown, Jesús Bombín,... to name a few, collaborations with some festivals, shows and tours across Europe,... To celebrate this first decade, DJ Makala, the man behind since the beggining, has made a compilation with 20 tracks, describing the trajectory of Global Funk with differents songs, remixes, re-edits, re-works,... produced by themselves, which has been a kind of soundtrack of the collective during whole this first decade. Let's Dance in Baskenland!


En el año 2018, la plataforma/colectivo de DJs Global Funk con sede en el Pais Vasco cumple 10 años de andadura. En todo este tiempo han venido organizando multiples eventos, como fiestas con DJs invitados locales e internacionales tales como Alice Russell & TM Juke, Nickodemus, Captain Planet, Tahira, Dusty, Txarly Brown, Jesús Bombín,... por citar algunos, colaboraciones con festivales, actuaciones y tours por Europa. Para celebrar dicho acontecimiento, su principal mentor DJ Makala ha compilado este disco con 20 temas, describiendo la trayectoria de Global Funk con diferentes canciones, remixes, re-edits, re-works,... producidos por ellos mismos, que han sido en cierto modo como una banda sonora del colectivo durante está primera década. If nothing else, this year has shown the world that the Monkey Safari brothers are unstoppable... and versatile. 2016 has already seen their release of three EPs: ‘On’ with remixes by Paco Osuna and Chloé back in March, ‘Bernstein’ with two remixes by John Digweed & Nick Muir and UNER released in June, and ‘Boris’ with help from Guy Mantzur and Victor Ruiz in August, all out on their own label Hommage. 

Now with their fourth EP of the year, entitled 'Woo', Sven and Lars have taken the world by surprise with their multidimensional and spirited style, as evident by their diverse, rapid-fire releases coming out like clockwork and made with a ton of love. This time without any remixers, the duo is laying it all out with this otherworldly, experimental EP. The first track, self-titled "Woo," pampers its listeners with deep, melodic tones, tribal rhythm and sporadic vocals - the perfect sound for early morning. On the other hand, the second track, "Verso," is an odyssey from somber to deep to luminous and back again - an excellent track for all dark clubs and sunny festivals alike.

For the past two years, we have been playing almost every production by Matthew Dekay & Lee Burridge. Now we're very happy to welcome both of them on Innervisions IV38. "Lost In A Moment" is a track that has given us goosebumps when playing it out in the clubs. A Dixon Mix on the flipside takes a different approach and shows that the summer season is just around the corner.
