Hailing from Wellington, New Zealand - Katherine (AKA k2k) has carved out a loyal following over the past few years. Her "Sugar EP" on Margins in 2017 was wicked, and inside the booth she has built up a reputation for classy DJ sets, touching on textured and melodic house. Be sure to check out "Night Pottery" a party series/record label collective in which Katherine is involved (link below).

Armed with a chamomile tea, Katherine has recorded just under an hour of seriously tasteful music! The mix is a selection of tracks that Katherine has been playing out recently. No theme in particular - just tracks that she feels blend well together and create a natural ebb and flow.

A few words on her favourite track from the mix: 
"Our Music by The Coastal Commission is my current favourite. It's such a smooth track, the vocals are prefect, the subtle acid keys are perfect. It's a track that I've been trying to find for a while now too, I first heard it on a Genius Of Time mix and kept regularly checking back to see if someone had id'd it. Finally some kind soul did! A true gem."

What does the next year hold for k2k?
"I'm just DJing a lot at the moment. I've got a few Australian shows coming up and a busy summer of festivals in NZ. I'm also running shows with my friends as Night Pottery - we've got Ciel coming over in November and some other internationals in the new year. Also just slowly working away on tracks - some solo and some with Hugo Jay. Always trying to balance music stuff with a full time job!"

"My name is Dirk Tyrone Peterson and I was born in Miami, Florida but have been living in New Zealand for the last 11 years and I call Tāmaki Makaurau (indigenous name for Auckland, New Zealand) my home <3 I identify as male and use he/him pronouns and identify sexually as queer. There isn't much of a techno scene here so me and my other dj pals are often coming together to throw DIY techno/house/queer parties as much as we can in punk bars or peoples homes." He's released 3 records with Hugo Jay as DJ Kush Boogie on Lobster Theremin and also flies solo, making ambient/drone/house that hasn't been released (yet). in his own words, d. tryone's biggest influences are "queer/trans/poc artists and labels that do the most to feminise and challenge the mostly white, male global techno scene (in particular Discwoman, directory service and naive to name a few)" - which is so important and cute all in one, just like him - "Aside from that I think my biggest influence are the earlier african american Detroit/NYC/Chicago DJs and producers that built the foundations that techno relies on today (Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Gerald Mitchell, Paul Johnston, Jeff Mills, too many to mention)". This v v v sweet mix was includes NAIVE004 trans love vibration and some of his other all time detroit faves incl jeff mills and los hermanos. Dig in urgentely cause you'll be happy you found out about this qt if you hadn't already.

Our next mix is from Flo Wilson, a composer, producer and artist based in Tāmaki Makauru/ Auckland, Aotearoa/ New Zealand. 

Her organic, experimental music creates emotive atmospheres aiming to facilitate empathetic, shared listening experiences. She has performed and exhibited in the USA, Australia and throughout New Zealand and released her debut EP '(Please) Keep Breathing' in 2017. Anika Moa has described one of Flo’s works as ‘trippy’! 

This melodic and experimental mix moves between the club, classical, pop, and sparse percussive tracks, taking you on a journey between the natural and the synthesized. Enjoy!

Originally from NZ, Nice Girl was pulled across the Tasman by the expansive musical scene. This mix is a compilation of music she currently connects to, including Eastern European alt-pop, dub, experimental percussive + new wave.
