With its 4th release Blue Sun Records introduces its Orange Series, a new format in the labels collection: a hand stamped vinyl EP series primarily for DJs, selectors and collectors. The new line is coming in a minimalistic design, with simple cardboard sleeves, stamped with the label’s own design.
 
Safe Road EP also marks the debut of the Hungarian duo, Saltedherb, formed by guitarist Tamás Horváth and producer Gabor Csirmaz in 2023. Coming from different areas of the Hungarian underground music scene, the duos members joined in to explore new horizons. 
 
Their first material takes the listener on a bass heavy, atmospheric trip-hop journey, with finely effected guitar themes. The downtempo tracks take a comfortable pace by walking in the golden light of the best trip-hop classics, with dreamy, reverbed strings and crispy, noisy percussions – with hats giving us the feeling of walking in sand, just down the beach evoked in Safe Roads' opening sample.

Gabor Csirmaz – arrangement, production
Didgeridoo musician and ambient producer. With his solo project, AudioCompress, he already had found local and international success, having releases with Free Sequence, Exiles, and performed at O.Z.O.R.A, S.U.N. Festival, UbikEklektik, or Tilos Rádió.
 
Tamás Horváth– guitar
SaltedHerb’s guitarist started his career in the rock and punk scenes of Miskolc and Budapest. Lately he turned his attention to jazz and funk, broadening his already diverse aspect of music.

London-based duo Franc Moody - the project from Jon Moody and Ned Franc - unveil ‘Space Between Us’ as a final preview of their upcoming third studio album Chewing The Fat, out 7th March via Night Time Stories. This track follows on from previously shared singles; infectious ‘Bloodlines’, furiously fun ‘Driving On The Wrong Side of The Road’ and the new era’s introductory track, ‘Going Through The Motions’. 

“‘Space Between Us’ feels like a funk fuelled cavalry charge that draws on elements of psychedelia, pub rock and space exploration.” Franc Moody explains. “It’s become a rule of ours to have a shuffle beat on each album, a groove we’ve grown to love in the FM format.”

The duo admits that they “came back from a writing trip in LA with the beat and bass line thinking nothing of it really, only for it then to all come together very quickly back in the studio HQ in London one evening. We hope you enjoy!”

Franc Moody are set to embark on a slew of highly anticipated EU & UK tour dates later this year, including an in-store album tour and a show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 3rd April 2025.

Hell Yeah have been busy making musical connections and reaching out to like-minded beatmakers once again. This time, it is Pier Paolo Polcari aka Polcari, a founding member of cult Italian band Almamegretta, who steps up with the magnificent new album I Will Try To Imitate The Birds. The eight-track record also features Adriano Viterbini, another Italian music icon and guitarist with the revered Bud Spence Blues Explosion and I Hate My Village as well as Ubjk, San Ignacio and Sergio Dileo.
Label head Marco first got in touch with Polcari after he remixed Italian cultural hero Sergio Messina's cover of 'Fly Away' back in 2021. The pair began sharing music, discussing their favourite reords and, eventually, the natural next step was to work towards the album now served up here.

Polcari is a master of downtempo sounds and, as well as several solo projects that fuse trip hop, folk, dub and world music, he has made a global mark as part of Almamegretta. The revered Naples band formed in the late 80s and has worked with greats like Massive Attack and Adrian Sherwood across more than 15 albums and are currently on a special 30th anniversary tour.

Opener 'Jardino' (Feat. San Ignacio) sets a laidback vibe from the off with gently breaking drums topped with whimsical melodies. 'Vita Nova' is cavernous dub with more lush instrumentals, xylophones and wispy synth motifs making for a world escape and 'Mundo' (Feat. Ubjk) has an air of Eastern melody with delicate pads and glowing keys floating above the pillowy drums. 'The Birds' (Feat. Adriano Viterbini) has fluttering harp strings that bring real beauty to a downtempo groove packed with vocoder vocals, synth smears and organic percussion.

'Orcos Ou Fadas' carries on with a rich blend of strings and percussion, shuffling rhythms and curious moods, 'Raifuki' lurches on moody drums and introverted melodies and 'Ligea' (Feat. Sergio Dileo) brings some romantic Latin rhythms and seductive clarinet while 'Superluna' completes the odyssey with more wavy dub and magnificent collages of melody and percussion.

I Will Try To Imitate The Birds will lift you off your feet and carry you away to a lush world of cathartic, sun-kissed musical pleasure.
