Within dance music, there can't ever be too many "Live For Today"/"Let's Party Tonight"-type anthems. Following up on their earlier 2014 single "Wolves," the German electro-house duo Digitalism build on that noticeably glossy and bright production with their new song, "Second Chance." Working similarly to the effects of a physical stimulant, the track delivers a high-energy, party-ready sensory attack that's firmly fastened to a throbbing dance melody.

"Second Chance" is also one of only a few songs by the German producers to feature vocals from Jens "Jence" Moelle — half of the Digitalism duo, along with İsmail 'Isi' Tüfeçki — the first track to do so since 2011's "Circles."

"Forget about the past tonight / It's never too late," he chants, playfully suggesting that even amid moments of heartbreak and missed connections, it's still possible to live with a definite YOLO conviction. From underneath the subterranean furniture comes the mythological Dave Nash with the piquant Open Mind / Take Your Time. A musical duality exists between the grooves of the record--perhaps Dave has created a musing that involves a philosophical mixture of good versus evil. The two original tracks are blessed with three incisive revisions from a grouping of ever-captivating entities in electronic music: Jamie Anderson, Danilo Vigorito, and 7th Star (Less Hate & Valentina Black). The result invokes a rapturous howl from the Tulipa garden animals.

Skeletal remains stacked high and bound together. The normalization of sympathy. Green springs. She bore a resemblance to the stranger. Throwing around adverbs. A rose wilted in the sunlight. Inflatable strength. A vixen awaits. When safer measures are employed millions of dreams materialize. Waterspout braids hang loosely in the wind. Action plans and reflecting streams. So much for the fairgrounds. Capitulated bosses dropped bricks on the grass. Flanking line testament. More than a nuisance but less than a fear. Falling deeply in love with the violets.

Footprintz are on a rich run of form right now, showing a craftsmanship in their songs that is so often lacking in modern day dance music. New single ‘Favourite Game’ is set to further buck this trend when it drops on December 3rd (general release).

Montreal’s soon to be favourite sons, Clarian North and Addy Weitzman, meet at an after hours party at the age of 15 and haven’t looked back since. Their noir tinged synth pop has taken them around the world and back, and with a debut album in the pipeline (also on Visionquest) they look set to see it all again.

‘Favourite Game’ is the second single from the album, a new romantic jaunt with its foundations laid out by a beautifully hypnotic bass line right from the off. Percussive flares, delicately arranged chords and that distinctive Footprintz vocal delivery all weave in and out, resulting in a multi-faceted slice of psychedelic pop perfection that’s sleazy in all the right ways, in all the right places.

Never one to shy away from a few top draw remixes, Visionquest drafted in Ivan Smagghe to put his own sonic spin on proceedings. His ‘On A Thin Line’ rework takes the original to a darker place, complete with distorted vocals and alarm noises for good measure. Visionquest’s own Ryan Crosson & Lee Curtis take the original into more club friendly territory, delivering a driving house rework sure to do some damage on dance floors worldwide.

‘Favourite Game’ is out a limited run of 12” on November 5th, followed by a Beatport release on November 19th and general release on December 9th.
