Every lady in this land,
With fingers slender, neat, and grand,
Counts ten on each, two hands so sweet—
Now isn’t that a perfect feat?

Twenty fingers, ten and ten,
Wave to friends again, again.
But add the toes, five on each foot,
And that’s where counting can get put.

Ten toes wiggling, side by side,
Counting digits far and wide.
Add fingers, toes—they’re all complete,
With twenty wiggly parts so neat.

Every child in the schoolyard knows
Ten little fingers, ten little toes.
Count them once, then count once more,
They add up to a perfect score.

But what if fingers took a walk,
Or toes decided they’d rather talk?
Would fingers tickle, toes run free?
Oh, what a silly world that’d be!

Imagine toes upon your hand,
Or fingers in the beachy sand!
They’d dance and wiggle, flip and flop,
And maybe do a belly flop.

Yet fingers stay just where they are,
And toes don't travel very far.
They work together, fit just right,
From morning sun to starry night.
