Jake Richter is a pioneer in Electronic Production and Sound Synthesis. His forward thinking and ability to create new and exciting sound and music is unprecedented. Living on the cutting edge of music and technology, Jake steps beyond the limitations of countless producers and artists before him. He has said, “The day our society becomes one with technology we as a race will finally be able to create freely. Many are afraid to accept the machine as an extension of the human heart but I embrace this idea with open arms.” Currently an Electronic Production and Design Major at Berklee College of Music, Jake seeks to intertwine traditional understanding of music theory and acoustic instruments with the surplus of possibilities provided to us by computers. Knowing this, it must be said that Electronic Production and Sound Synthesis is not the only domain that Richter knows and loves. He grew up playing the guitar from the age of 13 and listening to classic rock and heavy metal music. After many years of studying and practicing, his ears began to grow into the sounds of many Jazz, Bebop, Funk, and Soul artists such as Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino, Lettuce, and Soulive, to name a few. At this point in his career, Jake has a long list of accomplishments and a large amount of experience. He has worked on film scoring projects, organized and rehearsed bands for recitals, has recorded, mixed, and mastered works for a number of solo artists. Jake Richter is well known as an extremely hardworking, reliable, and persistent individual. He plans on developing his skills in the studio as an engineer and producer as well as on the stage with his band, Eight Arm Funktopus.
