My bands/solo

The first Digital Tears song that actually came together. I originally wrote this one in 2011 and recorded a heavier and grittier version of this particular song with Miko Kontturi in 2012. I was unsatisfied with it because it sounded a little too organic for my taste. I have made guitar-oriented, organic and heavy songs ever since I picked up the guitar and my solo effort is supposed to be something completely different. 

I'm still going to record vocals, guitars and basses on the particular piece of work, but it's going to sound cleaner and the main focus is on keyboards and programming this time. I'm hoping to get a chance to work with some talented people I know when I'm actually recording studio versions of these particular songs but at the moment I'm only working on demos and drafts.

Dying in Dreams (Synthpop version)

Party Inferno is my first solo single release.

It was originally titled as Disco (Helvetia) for Æviator's unreleased Trail of Iron EP. I wrote it with Teemy Pennala as a joke song for this progressive group. The others never really liked it but we ended up recording it anyway. After a lot of arguing and typical artistic disagreements we parted ways and I went on my own. Two years later I got the rights for two songs, now released as my own via iTunes and Spotify.

I used a Laney LV300 head, JB player sledgehammer for the rhythms and an SG for the leads.

Party Inferno

This humorous Hard Rock giant was supposed to be the opening track for Seraph's debut album we were recording. The song is about the attitude of Finnish consumers and my self-ironic view of being greedy for not uploading the songs online for free. (Ironic much?)

Anyway, I primarily used an SG rigged to a Laney VH100R for the huge walls of distortion and later added a barely overdriven Marshall Superlead 100 to add a small texture to the middle in order to strenghten the sound. I'm still more satisfied with the results than I have ever been before.

I used my SG plugged into a Laney VH100R and a Palmer cab simulator... Which was a huge mistake, real cabs ALWAYS sound better!
