You might think about Metro Area's classic album from 2001 when you hear this, as well as the more accessible side of 1990ies Warp records. Still: there is no real retro sound here. Kapote's music is quite futuristic. It's always has kind of a swing feel, uses chords and melodies that come from the big universe of jazz harmonics and are much more complex that what you are used from usual dance records. Kapote is special. He is the funky kid. Get ready for more Kapote in 2016 on Toy Tonics.

Originally released on the V.A. Quintessentials 50 and making rather big waves, “Grooff Machine” from Ponty Mython gets the remix treatment for some more dope grooffs! Chicago hotshot Chrissy (The nite owl diner, Classic, Razor n’ Tape) puts enough Disco and Acid in it and offers a great clubby alltime classic. Ponty himself fuses lost of House, Disco, Funk and 808 busines so that you can grooff to the max. And our mexican buddy Soul of Hex (Vicario Ltd, Freerange) keeps it dark and loopy before adding some splendid riffs. Time for the Grooff Machine!

A year ago we were pleased to present 'Sample Colossus'; debut album from the prolific Colombian producer Felipe Gordon (https://soundcloud.com/felipe-gordon), who have now managed to release his music through well known labels such as Toy Tonics, Quintessentials, Secret Reels, Sampling As An Art and Street Tracks.

Without sidelining his signature Lofi Jazz House, Felipe Gordon comes back to Nomada Records with 'Wolf Slang Amateur Prozac Ep' a combination of different states of mind where he accomplish to mature his sound and improves his production techniques through meticulous sampling, syncopated drums, self vocal arrangements and a detailed composed work using synthesis.

Five original tracks and a remix from a new french talent in the  Lo-Fi House scene, G2S, make  “Wolf Slang Amateur Prozac” the perfect EP for the dance floor.

Some more Mexican music on Quintessentials! This time from long time buddy 4004, another driving force in Mexico and already an established producer with releases on labels like Freerange, Faces, Vicario Ltd or Quintessentials. Mostly doing stuff on his own, Quintessentials 56 features a great collab track with Stuttgart’s Stylus Heat (currently working as Blunted Monks on Philpot). I’m not sure if we find 4004 reasons to like you Gerardo, but there are definitely two: you’re a cool fella and we love your music - simple as that!

PREMIERE: Jacky Mingo & Kapote - Make It Hot [Toy Tonics]

Pour https://soundcloud.com/louisdauvergne l’art de manier la musique n’est pas récent. Après un double cursus jazz et classique qu’il intègre au conservatoire de Mâcon dès l’âge de 8 ans, Louis  débute la House à ses 18 ans. 

De ses productions se dégage ainsi une incroyable cohésion, nourrie de structures toujours plus complexes et maîtrisées. Ce perfectionniste signe notamment sur le premier « Various Artists » de Copie Blanche, avec son morceau « Starfish ». 

Les 4 morceaux et l’interlude de cet EP "Starfish Island" sont le reflet de la personnalité de Louis Dauvergne : originale, un brin bordélique mais toujours dans l’idée de découvrir le jazz-fusion de demain. Les jeux sur les percus et l’esprit funky qui se dégagent de l’ensemble confère à cet EP le charme d’une House portée sur les origines de la black music.

En attendant la sortie prévue fin Mars 2018, Louis a quand même pensé à nous. Un paquet caché se trouve à proximité du jardin Damia Island à Paris dans le coffre d’une “Comet”. Promis ce n’est pas de la bière…

Cliff Music kicks off with a four-tracker featuring the Aussie Slamb, French boys Vitess & Mangabey, and last but not least Leipzig’s finest, Luvless. 

The A side starts with a melodic summer anthem ‘Minor Secret’ by Mangabey, followed by Slamb’s house-driven disco edit ‘Why Stop Now’.
