This piece is my rendition of a theme from the renowned Iranian TV series Sarbedaran, which aired in the early 1980s—a time when Iran was engulfed in the turmoil of war, revolution, and pervasive propaganda. For many Iranians who grew up during that dark and turbulent era, this series stands out as a rare cultural window to the outside world, amidst the constraints and censorship of the time.

Originally composed by the legendary Maestro Fahad Fakhreddini and performed by the virtuosic Ostad Mohammad Reza Lotfi, this haunting melody resonates deeply with memories of resilience and hope amid hardship. I’ve cherished this theme for years, and this recording is my heartfelt tribute, capturing its spirit through my own interpretation. I hope it brings a sense of connection to those who remember, and introduces its beauty to new listeners.

Diwali Vibes

This piece is a composition in the form of a Chaharmezrab, a unique structure in Iranian classical music. I've always admired the brilliant Chaharmezrabs by masters like Parviz Meshkatian, Jalil Shahnaz, Ostad Saba, and Faramarz Payvar. In one way or another, I believe that all these great artists were influenced by Saba's style. I originally composed this Chaharmezrab in 2014 and have performed it in various settings since then. I named it In Memory of Saba, as I often found myself wondering how he would create an engaging melody here. That thought process kept me focused until the end. In this rendition, the Shahed (central note) of Bayat Tork is Bb. I hope you enjoy it.
