Gruuv-founders Audiojack will be releasing the second single from their forthcoming album this April. Feels Good, produced in collaboration with esteemed singer-songwriter Jem Cooke, will land on Crosstown Rebels and includes a remix from melodic techno talent Patrice Bäumel. This is the second single to be released ahead of the album with Under Your Skin, made with Kevin Knapp, being the first.

Speaking on the release, Audiojack stated that: “Crosstown introduced us to Jem a few years ago through a remix. Jem is an amazing songwriter, her flawless vocals are great to work with and resonate well with our sound.”

Jem Cooke echoed the duo’s praise, describing how: “The collaboration with Audiojack came about after their remix of So Long - a track I did with Made By Pete. The boys are amazing and I loved what they did with that remix so when they asked if I'd be up for trying something new together, I obviously said yes.”

Feels Good sets off swiftly, merging prominent kick-clap combos with shimmering pulses throughout. It’s a real peak-time number, enhanced by Jem’s touching vocal offering, that showcases the stripped-back and ethereal theme of the single. Patrice Bäumel’s remix soon arrives and brings with it a poignant combination of celestial pads and rolling synth tones, as Jem’s stunning lyrical contributions magnify the track’s moving nature once more.

Leeds-born and now based in Ibiza, Audiojack have been at the forefront of electronic music for over a decade. In recent times the Gruuv-label founders have released their Isolation Tapes series to widespread industry acclaim, using music to provide a way out from the feelings of anxiety caused by lockdown and separation. UK singer-songwriter Jem Cooke is no stranger to Crosstown Rebels. First debuting on the label in 2018 alongside Made By Pete on So Long, it was later that year that Audiojack went on to remix the single. More recently, Jem collaborated with Damian on Into The Sun from his 2020 Flourish LP. A well-established member of the Crosstown Rebels family, Patrice Bäumel is one of Germany’s greatest exponents. Recent productions on Watergate Records and Systematic Recordings continue to showcase the emotive sound with which he’s become best known, whilst his performance at DGTL’s virtual festival last year marked another step in his ever-flourishing career.

Release Info: 
Legendary German duo Frankey & Sandrino will be inaugurating Crosstown Rebels’ 2022 release schedule in January. The two-track Optical will act as the label’s first release of the year, signalling a major occasion for the pairing.

Both artists spoke on what the release embodies, stating: “Optical is an expression of our darker sides and desire to go deeper into people’s consciousness. Without the kick you’re left with an abstract, morphing soundscape. A sense of melancholy and discomfort, but also a sense of hope. It’s those emotions, the dark and the light, that we always try to find in our music.”

The title track opens proceedings, taking the form of a hypnotic dance cut packed full of atmospheric pads and haunting vocal tones. Gentle hats marry up with whirring synth lines, whilst a subtle bassline chugs along beside. Gridd takes on a softer edge, rounding off the release in a haze of starry-eyed warmth. Ambient notes reside next to instrumental sounds throughout, as we’re drawn into an ethereal, dream-like world.

Frankey & Sandrino, based in Essen and Berlin respectively, have been making music together for just over a decade. In that time, their rich, detailed style has graced the upper-echelons of house and techno’s worthiest institutions, garnering a legacy of releases on labels such as Innervisions, Mule Musiq, Kompakt and Diynamic. The impact of tracks such as Acamar, Mercury or Chimes has paved the way for the unstoppable rise of Frankey & Sandrino, marking the pair as a standout act within the global electronic music scene.

With over two decades immersed in Buenos Aires’ vibrant nightlife, Nim has established himself as a multifaceted force: DJ, promoter, artistic director, and cultural curator. His journey is deeply interlaced with the heartbeat of the city, playing a key role in shaping some of Buenos Aires most iconic clubs, events, and festivals. 

Throughout his extensive musical career, Nim has honed his craft to become a true storyteller and atmosphere creator. In his sets, he skillfully blends genres such as deep house, progressive house, afro house, and melodic techno, immersing the audience in a deep mental state and enhancing the experience of any event. 

As an artistic director and resident DJ, Nim led the iconic brand "The Bow" for 10 years (up to and including 2023), leaving an indelible mark on the local scene. Additionally, he was a partner and involved in the development of the popular Sunday afternoon cycle "Rio Electronic Music." As part of these renowned cycles, he shared lineups with prominent international artists such as Lee Burridge, Damian Lazarus, Eelke Kleijn, Nick Warren, Mind Against, Sasha, Kevin de Vries or Blondish, among many others. 

Nim has performed in the stages of major festivals across Argentina, including Mandarine Park, Mute (Mar del Plata), La Fábrica (Córdoba), Metropolitano (Rosario), Arcana Festival (Mendoza), and the massive Autódromo de Buenos Aires, performing for thousands alongside industry titans like Solomun, Tale Of Us, Adriatique, Michael Bibi, Mathame, and Stephan Bodzin. 

Internationally, Nim has left his mark at standout events and showcases, including Afterlife's first edition in Buenos Aires,  Maceo Plex’s Ellum Showcase, Audiofly’s Flying Circus, Arodes’ Unreleased in Mykonos, Soundtuary with Keinemusik and Seth Troxler, and X Future by Adriatique. 

As a producer, Nim has released music on some of the scene’s most respected labels, including Mango Alley, All Day I Dream, Kindisch, Days Like Nights, Where My Heart Is, DPE, and Seven Villas. 

Today, as co-founder of FLAMA a production house and artistic collective Nim continues to nurture and expand his creative universe, crafting projects that bridge cultures, awaken emotions, and celebrate the timeless ritual of music.
