One movement of a chamber work for string quartet (2 violins, viola, and cello).

This is a piece about the state of conflicting thoughts within oneself; the ambivalence of feelings that come with these thoughts. The jarring panic of not knowing which thought to listen to, paired with the longing for calm/peace of mind, and the feeling of hopelessness within this confusion, and we don't know what to do. Ultimately, however, we know that this is just what it is, and it is up to us to deal with it, no matter how overpowering it can seem at times.
