Curso: En la Trama de la vida. Economía feminista y ecofeminismo en la era del capitaloceno.
Sesión 1. Ecofeminismos en la trama de la vida. A modo de introducción con Maria González Reyes. 

Como proponían Vanadana Shiva y María Mies, una de las principales aportaciones del ecofeminismo es que defiende que el modelo económico y cultural occidental se ha desarrollado de espaldas a las bases materiales y relacionales que sostienen la vida y que “se constituyó, se ha constituido y se mantiene por medio de la colonización de las mujeres, de los pueblos “extranjeros” y de sus tierras, y de la naturaleza”. Un principio que, a nuestro modo de ver, es básico para comprender la realidad que habitamos. 

 

En esta sesión abordaremos de forma introductoria los conceptos y herramientas clave, como la interdependencia o la sostenibilidad de la vida, que las perspectivas  ecofeministas y la economía política feminista han puesto en el centro para entender el capitalismo actualmente existente

Je vous invite à fermer les yeux et tendre l’oreille : à l’écoute des ces tout petits êtres qui peuplent les océans et opèrent La symphonie du vivant on peut comprendre les enjeux qui doivent nous préoccuper : La fragilité des écosystèmes marins nous révèle surtout notre propre fragilité. Et elle est entre nos propres mains.

Small Beings est une oeuvre créée dans le cadre d’une coproduction du GMEM, GMEA et de la Compagnie KARWAN, dans le cadre du projet La Convocation des Sirènes diffusée dans une balise de mer installée de manière pérenne sur le port de pêche de Port-Vendres. Les sons ont été gracieusement donnés par la bioacousticienne Lucia DI IORIO de l’Institut Chorus.

Program note:

"small fry (with ketchup)" is part of a series of short interludes for Max/MSP performer and generative MIDI sounds. This piece uses extreme layered delays to create MIDI drones that mimic the jagged instability of vocal fry noise. Over the course of the piece, various other generative effects are explored to create unique clamoring and bell-like textures.

A track for Naviar Records' Haiku Challenge. & days in which to write and record a track in response to the Haiku posted. To me the Haiku has quite an uplifting feel so I wanted to capture that in the music.

Windos 1≠1
The piece is based on a simple harmonic modulation whose chords are stretched over the entire length of the piece. The individual chord tones, however, are not even but broken up into manifold glissando movements and meet only at a few points. The result is a constant oscillation between harmony and disharmony. So a layer of constant of sound was created that runs silently in the background, so to speak, and only becomes audible in a few places. Like when you open and close windows and let sounds in for moments. I froze some of these moments (with the IRCAM verb), which also leads to these magical noisy sounds that might remind you of orchestral sounds. Some of these sounds are doubled and then processed differently, so that they take different developments from an identical starting point: 1≠1. The sound material is entirely made of sawtooth waves that have been heavily processed.
