The Marcus Nasty Show with Project Zeus ft. Tiffany Jade, Gens & Ama - 05 May 2021

This track was created as part of the 2022 Documenta Art Festival. 

The art festival takes place every 5 years in Kassel, Germany and this year it is curated by the Indonesian art collective Ruangrupa. The theme is 'Lumbung', an Indonesian word meaning communal rice barns and the festival will explore the principles of 'lumbung' such as resource sharing, collectivity and community. 

I created this track (which will also be played on Documenta's 'Lumbung radio' throughout the festival) to create a sonic connectivity between traditional Indonesian gamelan music and synthesised, electronic sound. It is an experimental piece of world fusion music that mirrors the interconnected community of the Lumbung practice. The title ' Heavy Metal' is a reference to the material used to create Gamelan metallophone instruments.

Electric Indigo, DJ, composer, musician has performed in 45 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. She represents an intelligent and distinguished interpretation of techno and electronic music. In 1998 she founded the transnational female:pressure network for which she received an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronic in 2009. The Republic of Austria awarded her with the Kunstpreis Musik in 2020. Electric Indigo premiered her compositions at festivals like Wien Modern, Musikprotokoll, CTM or Heroines of Sound and composed for Klangforum Wien. Her debut album “5 1 1 5 9 3” came out on Imbalance Computer Music, followed by "Ferrum" on Editions Mego in 2020. “Brittle” was released on Ventil Records in 2022.

The Accomplice’ is remixed by Grammy award winning producer Philip Larsen. As one half of the remix team Manhattan Clique Philip has 100s of credits to his name with highlights including remixes for Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Charli XCX, Ellie Goulding and Far East Movement. 

Philip said of ‘The Accomplice’: …amazing performance - hooky and euphoric all at the same time. The production also inspired so many different directions to go in with a remix. So it felt right to nod towards some early-90s jungle and my days back with DJ SS - Rollers Convention and mix it up with the original bass line. Hold tight!’

Nu Disco remake on the classic French library track.

Update: Excited to announce that my nu disco remix of ‘Cosmic News’ by Mallia won in the Dancefloor filler category of BMG’s sample challenge.

The original track is from the archive of iconic French label Telemusic. I’m honoured to be part of this and very excited for the upcoming release of the album through BMG Production Music and for my first placement with a major publisher.
