London-based duo Leftwing & Kody deliver their first outting on Solid Grooves Records with their ‘Sound Boy’ EP, featuring the banging tech house anthem of a title track.

Following releases on Truesoul, Relief, Knee Deep In Sound and their own Lost Records imprint, Leftwing & Kody are broadening their reach once again by gracing Solid Grooves. Their music has been the focal point of dancefloor stomping club nights for the past five years and this next release further showcases their jacking motif.

By utilizing a legendary vocal sample from an old-school garage classic, ‘Sound Boy’ is made for peak-time moments. Booming bass, hard hitting percussion and whimsical, whirring sirens make for an infectious tune with strong dancefloor appeal.

Look for the ‘Sound Boy’ EP to be release June 30.

Premiere: Leftwing & Kody 'Sound Boy'

German DJ and producer Henrik Shwarz has remixed a track titled ‘Wicked Streets’ by Belgian pop multi-instrumentalist J. Bernardt by flipping the emotionally charged anthem into a steady and enveloping house tune.

With his career mainly focused on his Balthazar project, J. Bernardt has since branched out to produce music cut from a different cloth. His new album, titled that Running Days, covers a spectrum of R&B, soul and hip-hop in a similar fashion to that of D’Angelo or Gorillaz. In a press release he shared a bit about what inspired the new material: “I still love the old-school ‘60s sound we created in the band—but for this project I began to think about what I’d play at a house party”.

With a steady bass riff Henrik Shwarz’s remix leads in using a piano melody to highlight J. Bernardt’s raw vocals, building the track into a mesmerizing house ballad. It’s a refreshing transformation from the respected producer.
