Great back to back to back DJ session on the @dubsmugglers soundsystem at this year's @dimensionsfestival in Croatia, alongside @floatingpoints, Tom Smith from the ace Cosmic Slop night in Leeds, ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/211633616863/ ) all held together by the mighty MC Kwasi. Solid Steel (11th July)  In Hour 1 this week we're delighted to welcome Glenn Astro ahead of the release of his Amitriptyline EP on Space Hardware. It's a   beautiful mix and this is what he had to say:
 "I was preparing tracks for months because I was so hyped when I heard I could contribute a mix to this series. But at the end I did use only about 20% of the tracks I have put aside and went for a more spontaneous approach instead... rather than delivering a flawless and completely thought through mix, it's now more kind of a vibe thing. So it's basically a conglomerate of records I like at the moment, some unreleased stuff and classics."

Rough Autumn Mix November 2015

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Motown, the iconic record label launched in 1959 in Detroit, Michigan by Berry Gordy Jr., Carhartt WIP will release a thirteen-piece capsule collection in the coming weeks. The collaboration honors a label that reshaped the sound of American pop music, diversifying its airwaves in the process. 

To mark the collection launch, we reached out to Detroit native Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann and asked him to prepare a strictly Motown music Carhartt WIP Radio show, that displays his personal love for the label.
 
As Moodymann is not man for hasty reactions, he delivered a detailed mix featuring rare b-sides, interviews and live recordings by Motown artists like Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Steve Wonder, Kem and Dazz Band. Asked about his very own feelings towards his mix, Kenny Dixon Jr. simply says: “No matter where I‘m standing it’s good to hear home sometimes. These songs are woven into the soundtrack of my own personal movie.”  There is nothing more to add, only: enjoy the ride!
