Solid Steel (13th June) In Hour 1 this week we welcome Akkord ahead of the release of their new EP on the excellent Houndstooth label. The tracks Greyscale and Continuum from the EP feature in their mix, alongside music from Cloud Boat, Andy Stott, Shackleton and Kerridge. The deep and dark selection continues with unreleased music from Talk in Silence, plus tracks from Autechre and the Aphex Twin remix for Curve from 1993. HTH020 is released on 16th June on Houndstooth and is pressed on 180g grey wax, with debossed cover and postcard insert.

SPIRITS HIGH ABOVE XV steps a side the beaten path of the Pharoah and tells how the seed of Coltrane & the synths of Kraftwerk absorbed the musical vision of a new world in 1970´s Germany. The dreams of the 68 generation were already broken and longhaired Krauts started to discover the world ,eastern and far away philosopy & exotc rhythm and sounds. Escapism at it´s best, here´s some of my last years vinyl finds,all made in Krautistan, mostly small label stuff and private pressings, plus an unreleased goodie.

Mira Calix, Plaid and Special Request all delivered sets that were energetic, playful and ultimately; incredibly fun. This mix from Plaid starts from the off at 100% and stays there till the end. From the first kickdrum to the final squelch, this is a constant roller bursting with heart palpitating energy.  60 minutes of pure vibrancy with a breakbeat or two thrown in for good measure - fitting for a final big blow out!
