For our 25th Anniversary he delivers a vinyl selection of the highest quality with music from Gil Scott Heron, Curtis Mayfield, Van McCoy, Lighthouse and Jess Roden.

Using Serato's Video-SL plug-in for Scratch Live, they mix, scratch and blend the sound AND vision for each track they play. Months were spent creating videos for each piece of music, either using the original source material or, in most cases sampling footage to create a new video entirely. Described as 'Video Turntablism', it has become a way for Food & DK to visualize their already legendary DJ sets. 
As usual, it's the diverse mix of music that they love and are known for, taking in current faves from Foreign Beggars & Noisia, Joy Orbison and Dorian Concept, but also plenty of classics that have kept dancefloors rocking from TTC, Pendulum, Luke Vibert, Think Tank and Z-Trip. Solid Steel (28th March) In the latest instalment, DK has put together a mix unveiling some of the latest gems from the Ninja Tune family of labels. This includes an EXCLUSIVE play of Machinedrum’s stunning remix of 'Runnin’ by Kelis -  available on the special, indies-only, limited edition version of her album 'Food', alongside the other remixes in this show from Breach and Will Saul. 
Then it's the turn of Machinedrum to be remixed by Seafloor, two from NameBrandSound, the VIP mix of 'Hardcourage' from Falty DL, a track from the forthcoming Mr Scruff album 'Friendly Bacteria', Teebs, classic Roots Manuva and two more for Record Store Day, from Illum Sphere and a Psych classic from The Animated Egg, released alongside If Music.

Solid Steel Radio Show 29/1/2010 Part 3 + 4 - Strictly Kev

Hour 2 kicks off with Luca Santucci from Stubborn Heart with a Northern Soul special. Almost exactly 15 years after his last mix for Solid Steel, he returns for another go on the wheels. Perhaps better known for his collabos with Leila Arab, Plaid, Playgroup and Matthew Herbert, Luca can nowadays be heard plying his trade as one half of Stubborn Heart. He's done this mix for us to promote the film his brother Marco Santucci has produced, 'Northern Soul', directed by Elaine Constantine. The mix consists of fave tunes out of his brother's 7" box as well as tunes off the soundtrack to the film, which hits cinemas up and down the country on October the 17th.

We finish the show with a mix by Dunk Ballantyne from Tiger's Milk Records to coincide with the release of Peru Bravo, rare Funk, Soul and Psych from Peru's Radical Decade. Music featured includes Laghonia, Traffic Sound and Thee Image from the album, plus more from David Toop, Wolfgang Dauner Quintet and E Rodney jones & Friends.
