Louis Michot is a Grammy award winning fiddle player and singer for Lost Bayou Ramblers, and in 2023 released his debut solo album “Rêve de Troubadour”. In 2018, Michot founded Nouveau Electric Records, promoting experimental and traditional around Louisiana French. In early 2020 Louis was named ‘Louisianian of the Year’ in 2020 along with his brother Andre. Louis began incorporating solar technology into his music operations in 2020, with a solar powered studio and a mobile solar music stage dubbed the “Solar Roller” This work also bled into doing hurricane relief work as noted in Rolling Stone (Can This Cajun-Punk Musician Protect His Culture From Climate Change?, September 16, 2021) while raising funds to procure solar generators and panels for residents of Terrebonne Parish affected by Hurricane Ida, as written about in New Yorker magazine (The Lost Bayou Ramblers Get Lit, January 3, 2022).

Solid Steel (27th March) DJ Food returns with a second instalment of his Future Shock series - mixes with a bias towards the purely electronic and largely instrumental end of the spectrum. Ninja Tune acts Machinedrum, Falty DL and Martyn rub transistors with Sinoia Caves, Pye Corner Audio and Silent Servant. Old hands The Human League, Carpenter & Howarth and Psychic TV are present, even Queen get a look in. Sandwiched in the middle is a lengthy excerpt of Tangerine Dream's 'Tru Metamorphic Rocks' in dedication to founder Edgar Froese who passed away recently.

21 year old Miami native Ricky Remedy has taken the trap/edm torch and is lapping the world with it right now. Ricky’s new EP on Mad Decent / Jeffree’s showcases his maddest tracks to date. “Make Me” starts off the EP with a elbow-throwing banger, complete with 1000 tuned “ugh’s” to fill your daily quota. Second in line is “Riccochet”, which sees Ricky changing gears to a house tempo and quite frankly killing this track. Is it jungle terror? Are birds calling in for reinforcements? We aren’t sure, but half of the club just turned into shamans in the middle of ayahuasca trip.  And finally, speeding up the tempo one more time, we get a high speed annihilator of a track that leaves the rest in the dust with “Still Wylin”.
