In Hour 2 it's Memory9, another artist playing at Soundwave Festival and someone who has featured many times on Solid Steel. For his 25th Anniversary mix it's a personal panoramic view of tracks played on the show that have influenced his musical interests over the years. Starting with music from Ninja Tune artists in the 90's from Amon Tobin, his previous incarnation Cujo, Coldcut, DJ Toolz and Clifford Gilberto, before moving forward into the 00's with Jurassic 5, Prefuse 73, Luke Vibert and Four Tet. Then it's more recent tracks from Flying Lotus, Silent Dust remixed by Om Unit, Teebs and more from Bonobo, plus a whole heap of Solid Steel references. The Memory9 12" 'The Abyss Within'  is available on July 22nd on Mnemonic Dojo with remixes by Om Unit and H-SIK.

Then it's a dancehall classic from Johnny Osbourne over the Sleng Teng riddim and new music from H-SIK and Dawn Day Night splicing up Foster Sylvers, before unleashing the sublime gospel vocals of Pastor T.L. Barrett. Solid Steel (7th February) In Hour 1 we welcome The Gaslamp Killer to start off the show. It's a mix of some of GLK's favourite current alternative groups specialising in the dark psychedelic side of rock and the harder edged beat music that he loves so much. Plus a couple of world psych classics in the middle, from fast to slow around we go, always a narrative journey with GLK.
DK continues with the beautiful collaboration between Debruit & Alsarah and onto the new Mount Kimbie remix for Kelis on Ninja Tune and the current single by Falty DL. Then it's a track from the Actress album Ghettoville and into the dub mix of classic 80's Boogie from Barbara Fowler, before ending with Cottam and Instra:mental from the last few years.

Solid Steel Radio Show 7/2/2014 Part 1 + 2 - The Gaslamp Killer + DK

Solid Steel (9th January) DK is back for his first mix of 2015 and after a brief intro from Doug Carn, it's straight into a batch of forthcoming music from Glenn Astro & Max Graef, Dan Snake and Anthony Naples from his album coming out on Four Tet's Text label. It's another spin for the huge Roots by Romare and classic deep house from 1995 from Marc Kinchen and Chez Damier under his Andthoney alias. 
Mix of the Year winner Clap! Clap! is remixed by Lurka Obeah, followed by a host of giveaways from Seven Davis Jr, Alex Patchwork, Photay and the Hudson Mohawke remix of Four Tet. Then more new music with Soundbwoy Killah and Beat Spacek with a track from the Modern Streets album out in 2 weeks, plus there's always time for another Fela Kuti track.

 We continue our review of 2011 looking back at the most popular mixes by the Solid Steel resident DJ's, as voted by you the listeners. Again 'In no particular order', we start with DK's first 'Cymatic Frequencies' mix from January (that also came with an AV mix). Kidkanevil, Ramadanman and Maddslinky remixed Toddla T all feature, alongside a Ninja Trio and a Big Dada double, plus James Blake, Caribou and Bassnectar.

The Hexstatic mix that also appeared in January, was your favourite with the classic Royksopp remix of KOC, leading into the lovely electronica Two Dots by Lusine. SBTRKT's remix of Modeselektors 'Art&Cash' leads perfectly into maierial from Robin Hexstatic's project, plus music from  Magnetic Man, Andreya Triana and Dave Angel.
