Solid Steel (26th September) Berlin duo Kim Brown are the guests in Hour 1, having released music on Freerange, Permanent Vacation, Just Another Beat and a recent 12" on Needwant Recordings. As they say "We did something a bit different, not quite the regular club mix. Well suited for rainy autumn days." It's a mellow start with music from Porn Sword Tobacco and Hauscka on City Slang, but soon hits a groove with tracks from Kiasmos,  Grandbrothers and Jouem, before closing with The Notwist.

21 year old Miami native Ricky Remedy has taken the trap/edm torch and is lapping the world with it right now. Ricky’s new EP on Mad Decent / Jeffree’s showcases his maddest tracks to date. “Make Me” starts off the EP with a elbow-throwing banger, complete with 1000 tuned “ugh’s” to fill your daily quota. Second in line is “Riccochet”, which sees Ricky changing gears to a house tempo and quite frankly killing this track. Is it jungle terror? Are birds calling in for reinforcements? We aren’t sure, but half of the club just turned into shamans in the middle of ayahuasca trip.  And finally, speeding up the tempo one more time, we get a high speed annihilator of a track that leaves the rest in the dust with “Still Wylin”.

"Some time in 1985, I stumbled across a station playing 'The Roof Is On Fire' by Rock Master Scott & The Dynamic Three, cursing and all. Thus began my initiation into the world of college radio. The first DJ at KDVS to have a rap show was named Oras Washington, and he became an important mentor. I made this brief mix and rode my bike down to the station to hand-deliver the tape. It's pretty rough, but it's a good snapshot of what I was into: East Coast and West Coast rap (not to mention a bit of London) and some James Brown thrown in for good measure."- DJ Shadow

We start where we ended the last AV mix with the anthemic 'Hyph Mngo' by Joy Orbison and a few choice words from Sun Ra. We continue in a future vain with the Eliphino Remix for Kidkanevil, Maddslinky given a Toddla T lick, and the heavy 'Work them' by Ramadanman. 
It's a Ninja Trio and a Big Dada double, while James Blake floats over the Altrice remix of Caribou, before we turn up the bass to 11 for Bassnectar. The beats stay heavy as we skip through the Jamie XX remix for Gil Scott-Heron, an 'old skool' trio mixed with RackNRuin and Vent for extra dance floor punch, and it's a D n B finish with the DJ Marky remix of 'Wile Out' by Zinc, Sunny by James Brown tweaked by Featurecast and we end on the sublime Flying Lotus remix for Andreya Triana.
