For the ninth year, I’ve been putting together this mix which is a personal selection / exploration of healing and transformative music: songs that have a deep sense of spirituality without being religious in nature. A feeling that can be found in music of all genres, eras and cultures.

On a usual year anywhere on the planet, a beautiful spring morning feels like a precious gift. However these past years have been anything but usual. I would like to dedicate this mix to all that have lost loved ones, faced difficulties and personal challenges.

Joy*Ride is a monthly event taking place every second Sunday from 2-5pm at Buteco (Grant Park, Atlanta) hosted by Wahine with guest DJs on rotation. Fans of My Analog Journal (UK), Le Mellotron (FR) and Khruangbin's marathon sets during the pandemic will enjoy these eclectic 3-hour journeys into the deeper cuts across many genres including rare groove, bossa nova, latin, reggae, funk, psych, jazz, electronica, and beyond.

In Hour 2 we hand over to Brassica ahead of his debut album 'Man is Deaf', which is out on Civil Music next week. Kicking off with Brey, his mix takes in choice selections from Italo disco legend Lee Marrow, Kodiak, the Ganz remix of Louis Futon, our own FaltyDL, Aimes and Manhattan Project. He told us;
