I got my first guitar while living in Pacific Palisades, California in the early 1970s — a brief but formative three-year chapter that sparked a lifelong love of music. I was too young then to realize that many of my favorite artists were living, writing, and gathering just up the road in Topanga Canyon, but their influence stayed with me. I later earned a degree in music from Skidmore College. After starting a family, I set my guitar aside for many years, returning to it during my mother’s final days — a quiet thank-you and a way back to the music. I’m still reconnecting with it now, and grateful to share the journey.
