Hail to the games! Hail to the brand new sport-team of Nipponeer Records! Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, our label has decided to make our own contribution during these special times. We had five sharp looking athletes and made them go to the gym, do the working out ever harder than before... The result is yours to hear - we are ready for the games:

Our torchbearer, Rory Hoy from the UK, participates even in two figures, introducing properly both sides of the golden ages of the music era called Big Beat. Nonetheless serious champion, our long-time runner, Pray For Bass from Spain, qualifies himself as a happy and easy-flow winner with his comfortable, yet energetic breaks remix. The heavy-weight wrestler, Groove Mind from Italy, also plays with us in the team this time, laying down glitchy barriers of bass-heavy party breaks packed with sporty guitar licks and jumpy organ riffs. The guys from Lack Jemmon representing the Eastern-block in the posse, bringing in some attitude to balanced uplifting beats accompanied with breezy funky flow, hence having a fat bass-line. Uniting the group together, we’ve the mighty veterans from the USA, All Good Funk Alliance to make sure each side of the funk-music is covered - thus, the release is read for the games...

Nipponeer Records being based in Tokyo, Japan; was founded by Hiroshi Fukuma in 2003. This is the 13th release of the label, while the first EP came out in 2009 - aiming to reach a place of solely ageless and quality music, where time has got no dimension.

I started playing the gramophone at the age of 15, since then I have been collecting vinyl records from raggajungle to neurofunk, I have been playing purely from vinyl records for 20 years, the first record Total Science - Nosher (baron remix), Sub Focus - X-ray, Pendulum - Anorth Planet, State of mind - RealMcCoy original mix. In the last three years, I have also been involved in production. I'm slowly getting into it, now that I already own about 250 LPs, I'm starting to fall in love with Breakbeat, Funky Break(house) and actually for the whole 20 years I've been looking across genres that simply have Kick and balls 🤘💪😎

DJ Felipe Kantek has stood out in the southern scene of Brazil for his bold style of playing electronic music. Always with a lot of charisma and keeping the dance floor lively, founder of the Metropolis Project and active cultural producer in the electronic scene, he keeps his sets always up to date with the latest national and international trends.

He began his career as a DJ in 2005, where he quickly rose to prominence in Curitiba's underground scene. The sound quality and vast sound diversity made his DJ Set a brand in the city, guided by the beginning of the Electro House scene. His sound crosses numerous aspects of electronic music, influenced by Electro, DnB, Breaks, Glich Hop, funky breaks , ghetto funk & bass. Always up to date with the latest world musical trends ensuring an always original DJ Set and lively tracklist.

 One of the founders of the cultural project Metropolis Project (2007) and the Tandava Gethering festival (2011) Felipe Kantek actively works in the music scene as a cultural producer promoting events and actions focused on electronic culture.
