Univack presents 'In The Beginning', a two-track EP with an original by the Greek duo SERIOUS DANCERS @seriousdancers , plus a remix by the Argentinian HERNAN CATTANEO @hernancattaneo & Chilean SIMPLY CITY @simply_city_music .

Serious Dancers  return to Univack one year after their successful first release on this label, titled 'Sabase Pahale'. Serious Dancers are ones of the most representative names in the Organic House music scene nowadays. This time they show a track closer to Progressive House, but still loyal to their particular style, characterized by solid beats, hypnotic and evocative melodies, and cinematic  elements.

The EP is completed by the awesome remix from the most representative DJ in the worldwide Progressive House scene for the last two decades, el maestro Hernan Cattaneo, in collaboration with the also experienced DJ & producer Simply City. This remix is the second release of both artists on Univack, and another evidence of their perfect symbiosis when they make music together.

Now debuting on Meanwhile, the "Sinking Sky" opener is characterised by a driving beat and metronomic hi-hat pattern. A cast of additional characters add to the overall sonic landscape including a beautifully juxtaposed pad progression. A spine-tingling breakdown provides acetylene-edged emotion via the extended bassline motif, before hitting its stride once more in the latter stages to wondrous effect and no small amount of production talent. "Biome" continues the narrative of raw effects-laden power, while a strong kick lays the foundation for a piercing percussive groove, adding swing to the off-beat. From early work for AtlantDigital and Jetlag Digital in late 2008 / early 2009, Juan Deminicis quickly found his work in-demand. A myriad of independent blue-chip labels quickly came calling for the Argentinean’s distinctive sound as Proton Music, Replug and Perspectives Digital found a home for his music. Over time, more than 400 production credits have become allied to the Juan Deminicis name as Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Pablo Bolivar’s Seven Villas and Guy J’s Lost & Found continued to highlight his musical prowess amongst some of the world’s most-respected progressive house imprints.

And so it is with the greatest pleasure that Proportion welcomes Juan Deminicis to make his debut for the Dmitry Molosh led imprint with a typically high calibre offering. Driven by a fizzing, groove-laden percussive backbone, “Intuition” lilts effortlessly forward, propelled by an easy bassline sequence and deep kick. Hitting its stride in the early phases, a sharp-edged analogue lead creates a memorable lead line, ably accompanied by beautifully cadenced piano chords. Dropping into a beatless breakdown, the synth and piano motifs combine in unencumbered fashion before the mesmerising rhythmic foundation once again makes its presence felt in a smooth, club-friendly masterpiece.

Continuing the tranquil melodic narrative of its counterpart, “Two Walls” is a majestic track that quickly reveals a smooth synth line meandering effortlessly across its 6-minutes. Redolent in delays and reverb, the free-flowing motifs sit atop a chugging percussive structure that fizzes with white-noise and hi-hat urgency. GMJ & Matter need little introduction to the underground dance cognoscenti. In-demand producers and DJs with a beguiling sound that defines modern progressive house, the Australian duo return to Balance Music with their ‘Helioflow’ EP.

Both prodigious artists in their own rights with a slew of high-profile releases to their name, the Australian duo first came to prominence as a collaborative force with their May 2016 'Superposition' EP on Proton Music. Since then, GMJ & Matter have continued to see their careers hit stratospheric heights as international DJs, producers and label owners.

Now returning to Balance Music for the first time since 2019’s ‘Emerge' EP, alongside fellow countryman, FunkForm, the 'Helioflow' title track is a glorious modern progressive house gem. Full of trademark production characteristics, a heavy kick and hypnotic percussive groove lays the foundation for swirling white-noise fuelled pads to rise and fall gently. Before long, a filtered synth line enters the fray liberally coated in sweeping delays and cavernous reverb. Evolving easily to the mid-point, textured elements and motifs combine in a haunting breakdown before the powerful rhythmic foundation drops back in to create a pulsating closing movement.

Imagine sitting on a high-rise building with your legs dangling from the edge—that's the adventure on offer in 'Skyline Depth.' The drum section takes you on an enveloping ride through shuffling hats and tightly bound percussion, all accentuated by dream-like synths and samples awash in the most glorious reverb. The journey culminates in a sensational breakdown, where balmy, mirage-haze melodies rise in the distance. This is a track to share with friends on early morning dancefloors as the sun rises.

Fordal (Les Dales) is a producer whose love affair with music has been evident from the off. His earliest memories were of his Dad, a saxophonist playing Jazz clubs and sharing the same bill as legends like Jimmy Hendrix shaping Fordal’s desire to look beyond mainstream and be immersed in counterculture music.

Born in the North East, an area of the UK steeped in dance music history. His passion was ignited upon his first visit to The Arena Opening Party in Middlesbrough, and watching Andrew Weatherall play techno at the legendary London club Turnmills and he instantly was hooked.

Fordal first made his name opening the renowned Binary Records shop in 1998, regarded as a music collectors paradise until it fell foul to the digital piracy era and the shop closed in 2001. This musical foundation was detrimental to Fordal’s progress in music, allowing him to cut his teeth at some of the most prestigious venues around the world, including The Arena, Purple Onion, The Cornerhouse, Ministry of Sound and EGG London.

This is where Fordal began to cultivate his own unique sound, becoming known for his desire to take listeners on a journey spanning an eclectic and colourful range of genres and sounds, defying musical boundaries and contrasting between the light and dark. As the industry evolved so did Fordal, an itch to push his artistry into new territories took him to Point Blank Music School to hone his music production skills.

Combine his impressive and wide ranging record collection, his ability to captivate dancefloors and his upcoming music productions and you have the ingredients for a unique artist set to capture imaginations of music fans across the world.

Following the release of his second studio album ‘Lailonie’ at the close of 2020, UK-born / Cincinnati-based producer Marsh shares the first of two remix packages, featuring mixes from Canadian producer Simon Doty, Russia’s Amonita and UK-based Frost.
