This album is a love letter to stand-up comedy. What I've noticed about jokes and comedy bits, is that when you rewatch them time after time, you don't hear the joke anymore, you hear the original thought behind the joke. Which probably wasn't triggered by a fortunate string of events.
So, it's the voice samples of comedians/comedy actors/etc, but either in a serious/dramatic moment, or a serious interview, or even just taken out of the COMEDIC context, so that it doesn't sound like a joke, but rather a statement.
