Rebeca Sol is an accomplished singer songwriter. From the beautiful melodies created on her guitar to her sultry vocals or how she weaves spoken word into her music – she’s not your average singer. Her influences range from Lauryn Hill to Lianne La Havas from Alicia Keys to Al Green. Her earliest memory of music is from her mom singing to her when she was small, twirling her around to Stevie Wonder and then Celine Dion. From that moment on she was hooked. Her first performance was at a varsity basketball game, she sang the national anthem and continued singing for each of their games. When the season ended - she got a standing ovation! She continued performing wherever she could from art galleries to college stages. People’s response to her music is that it is a breath of fresh air, something different, something beautiful and needed today more than ever. Her organic and soulful sound tinged with jazz, neo- soul and R&B provides relaxation as well as inspiration. She works to create music that not only makes people feel good but also inspires them. She works to inspire teenagers and elementary school kids by speaking on various panels about the importance of being true to you, preventing bullying and loving oneself regardless of what others have to say.

Las Cafeteras combines the vibrant energy of Son Jarocho music with an edgy LA-alternative sound & political message. Their pounding Afro-Mexican rhythms, stomping zapateado dancing, & uplifting lyrics tell stories of everyday people searching for love & fighting for justice in the concrete jungle. This alt-son group re-mixes traditional sounds, adding Afro-Carribean marimbol, Native American drum & flute, cajon, hip hop, English & Spanglish to Jarocho instruments like jarana & requinto guitars, donkey jaw-bone, & the tarima (stomp box).
