Dear listener,
finally this year, I managed to see the man burn!
In the weeks and months before Burning Man a lot of my friends kept on telling me how amazing it was and most of them would conclude their eulogy with something like: „Burning Man changed my life“.
Well, I can not certainly say that Burning Man changed my life, but what I know for sure is that my life changed afterwards ;-)
Very glad that I made it to this far away place and I hope to return next year.
I want to thank Lio and everybody at our nice camp and of course the robots who invited me to let their hearts beat according to my pace. It has been truly amazing. 
The only thing I really had to struggle with, that Sunday morning on the Playa, was the sunlight that made it almost impossible to spot anything on the display, so please please please you geeks out there, come up with something that can work in sunlight, because we all love the sun!

┋Mira presents 'Tributo de los Andes' Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr. 83┋

Unser Podcast Nummer 83 kommt diese Woche von niemanden Geringerem als von der bezaubernden und umwerfenden Mira. 

Lange Jahre beeinflusste Mira die ost-deutsche Techno-Szene bevor sie vor ca. 10 Jahren ihre musikalische Heimat in der legendären BAR25 in Berlin, später Kater Holzig und jetzt Kater Blau fand. Während ihrer Zeit in Berlin hat sie ihren ureigenen Sound geformt, der an endlose Nächte voller Wunder und Gefühlstiefe erinnert.

In der Bar25 war es auch, wo sich Miras Wege zum ersten Mal mit Chris Schwarzwalder, NU und Jo Ke kreuzten; daraus entstanden sind nicht nur lebenslange Freundschaften sondern auch kreativer musikalischer Austausch, Kooperationen und ein nicht enden wollender Output an toller Musik.

Jeder, der selbst schon einmal in den Genuss ihrer endlosen Sets gekommen ist, versteht sofort warum ganz Berlin ihren speziellen Sound so sehr schätzt. Warm und  hypnotisierend geht er unter deine Haut und lässt dich mit einem Gefühl tiefer Verbundenheit zurück.

Ihre Erlebnisse und Gefühle eines 2-monatigen Peru/Anden-Trip stecken nun in diesem entschleunigten Meisterwerk. Vielen Dank liebe Mira das du dir die Zeit genommen hast und unseren Hörern wünsch ich maximalste Freude bei dieser Reise.

Seit wann legt ihr als Björn Small & Björn Just zusammen auf und wie kam es dazu? 

Unsere Premiere hatten wir vor drei Jahren auf dem ersten Kommune Vertikal Open Air am Rande des Nymphenburger Schlossparks. Zusammen mit drei weiteren Freunden, fragten wir uns eines Tages: Warum gibt es eigentlich in München so wenig Raves im Grünen – mit netten Leuten, entspannter Musik und frei von Kommerz? Daraufhin haben wir uns eine lauschige Location in der Natur ausgesucht, eine fette Anlage besorgt, all unsere Freunde eingeladen und haben bis in die frühen Morgenstunden ein rauschendes Fest gefeiert – die Geburtsstunde der Kommune Vertikal. 
Welche musikalischen Momente sind euch besonders in Erinnerung geblieben?
Da fallen uns spontan zwei Momente aus unseren Kommune Vertikal Open Airs ein:
Sonnenaufgang an der Isar, ein nicht mehr ganz nüchterner Raver springt nackt und laut jubelnd in die Isar während aus den Lautsprechern "so weit wie noch nie" von Jürgen Paape tönt. Ein großartiger Moment.
Die zweite Szene ereignete sich letztes Jahr, als wir auf Ansage der Herren in Grün, unsere Location verlassen mussten. Daraufhin sind wir mit der ganzen Meute umgezogen und haben unser komplettes Equipment 1000 Meter entfernt auf einer Wiese wieder aufgebaut. Alle haben mit angepackt und konnten es anschließend kaum erwarten, bis der Sound wieder los geht. Als dann Daniel Goldbach den ersten Track abgefeuert hat, ist die Stimmung förmlich explodiert. 
Wo konnte man euch bisher antreffen?
Wir legen regelmäßig in der Gruam auf, haben zusammen mit den Höhenreglern Partys im Pathos organisiert und waren auf einigen Wilde 13-Veranstaltungen für den zweiten Floor verantwortlich. Neben Auftritten in der Roten Sonne sowie dem Crack Bellmer in Berlin waren wir auch im Bahnwärter Thiel und auf diversen Wannda-Veranstaltungen zu hören. 
Gibt es Zukunftspläne, vor allem auch mit eurem Projekt Kommune Vertikal?
Wir stecken gerade mitten in der Vorbereitung für das Midsommer - das erste Kommune Vertikal Festival, das vom 17. – 19. Juni in der Nähe von Wasserburg stattfinden wird.
Drei Tage lang kommen innovative DJs und Bands aus München und Umgebung zusammen, um auf einem wunderschönen Bauernhof im Grünen ein feuriges Fest zu feiern. Wir sind total gespannt und freuen uns sehr über die positive Resonanz bisher. 

Im Juli wird es dann wieder ein Kommune Vertikal Open Air geben; wir suchen gerade die passende Location. 

Für die Zukunft wollen wir unseren Freunden weiterhin eine aufregende Alternative zu den etablierten Festivals, Partys und Clubs bieten. Denn letztendlich sind auch wir nur ein paar kleine Raver, die Spaß am Party Machen haben.

Dub Techno Blog Show 140 - 12.05.19

It’s been a long time coming but NEX002 is finally here! A lot has happened since the first release; I graduated university, started a completely new career (in design), bought my first house with my girlfriend and finally got some space dedicated to making the artwork for this label. 

This album is worth the wait (I hope). The consistency of fourtimeszero music is something I rarely encounter. Every week he would be sending me a new track for this album and I was blown away every time. I’d like to thank fourtimeszero (Autor) for his patience in getting this together. 

The release is made by hand, by myself. Screenprinted, cut, creased and packaged. There are imperfections that come with these processes. In the ever-expanding digital world traces of human interaction with an object is a welcome change to the norm.

Natural Expressions 002 (Limited Cassette Only)

Marco Gegenheimer and Daniel Baughman started Magic Teapot along with Jens Ingelstedt in 2017, relentlessly searching for hidden sounds from all over the world, paired with nutty video snippets through their Instagram account. Currently they have stopped as a record shop (due to lack of time), as they’re both busy with individual projects. Daniel is A&R at Hivern Discs and a booker at Barcelona's newest Audiophile listening bar, Nica. Marco is nowadays focusing on MLiR’s debut album and has several EP’s lined up this year on Studio Barnhus and Local Talk, to mention a few. In a near future, Magic Teapot Records will become a record label, but until then you can catch them playing at Dekmantel Selectors on the 23rd of August. Dani and Marco recorded this mix exploring breezing new age, magic downtempo, amateurish boogie and experimental disco. A phenomenal journey!

The last few years have seen Volvox rightfully come of age on the international scene. The self-styled “techno disciple” has been shaping and driving the Brooklyn underground ever since moving to NYC from Boston in 2011, but has been hosting events and laying down tough sets for more than a decade. A couple of residencies in that time have seen her push both an acid house sound and a harder techno outlook while she is now at home everywhere from De School to Berghain.

In this searing 80 minute selection, Volvox tears through a range of electro sounds that race along with a high speed funk. Form punchy bass driven jams to visceral industrial and on to a sci-fi future, it’s a brilliantly widescreen but cohesive overview of a genre that is made for dancing.
