Introducing "And Breathe" - A Dub Techno Odyssey by Sephirot

Embark on an immersive voyage into deeper waters, one that navigates submerged rhythms and interlocking musical currents. "And Breathe," the debut Dub Techno album by Sephirot, invites you to lose yourself in a hypnotic auditory journey that seamlessly blends rich atmospherics and binaural field recordings with fathomless kinetic pulses straight from the darkest dance floor.  Drawing inspiration from the pioneers of Dub Techno, Sephirot's weaves echoes of legendary figures like Basic Channel and Rhythm & Sound into his compositions. Yet, his distinctive fusion of haunting soundscapes and oceanic baselines alongside more contemporary elements pays just as much homage to UK pioneers like Burial, creating an compelling convergence of Berlin's club culture and the innovative styles that have emerged in the UK over the past two decades.

Within each track, Sephirot's compositions echo the ebb and flow of the tides, with serene moments intertwining with pulsating crescendos, offering moments of introspection and dancefloor euphoria in equal measure. One minute degraded dub chords are interwoven with intricate hocketed patterns and captivating two-step hi-hats, the next vast new spaces are conjured with dense layers of sound recalling Ambient innovators such as William Basinski and Taylor Deupree, as much as they do late nights from Bristol to Detroit.  Throughout, “And Breathe’s” diverse tracks become gateways to different parts of this journey, from the shimmering textures of “Zero Zone”, to the driving mechanical rhythms and barely glimpsed duduk melodies of “And Again (One for Pie Eye)”, to the spring reverb drenched title track, and even "Frog Galaxy" blunted and skittering rhythms, each composition draws you a little deeper into the album’s magnetic pull.

"And Breathe" finds its home on Natural Expressions, the sister label of Drift Deeper - a hallowed sanctuary for seekers of sublime electronic discoveries. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur of Dub Techno or a curious voyager of uncharted musical territories, “And Breathe” is a rewarding album that bears repeated listening.

UK-based Natural Expressions latest 4 tracker offers pure primetime examples of dub and deep techno. 2 from beloved fixtures in the scene along with 2 that are on the rise. The universally recognized Gradient, gives us 'Flight Above the Fog' and like the title alludes to, it accomplishes. Known for his intricate and classic dub techno rhythms, this hypnotic standout builds the atmosphere to a goosebump crescendo. Collogne follows up with 'West District'. A mesmerizing chord anthem that hangs around in the sweet spot, never over-extending its' welcome.

The second side hosts the ever-talented veteran Merv and his wicked contribution titled 'Serpent'. This attention grabber is standout dub techno in the upmost. Elegant and tempered, it chooses the smoothest route, washing over the listener with absolute dream-like euphoria. Vapnik closes the 12" with a fantastic reinterpretation of the Marco Hessler track 'Spacewaves'. The scintillating chord work is an audible thrill while the subdued drop towards the middle is pure magic. Another strong artist who really brings the heat. NEXV002 ‎is the ideal example of a 4 track EP that features no holes. All killer and no filler.

Welcome to a brand new chapter of Deep Electronics. The serie brings you a diversity into the abyss of deep electronic music. This time DJ Joshua makes is debut her on the channel.

About:
DJ Joshua defines himself as just someone who appreciates quality music, especially the electronic side that immediately captured his attention, captivating his interest in his styles from house, through drum'n'bass and chillout to more techno imposing.He started putting together the first songs with the mythical k7 decks in the early nineties, moving quickly to mixing vinyl slices. He collaborated on local radio shows on electronic music and performed at parties organized together with friends. In those days, while following the beginning and growth of the dance scene in Portugal, his interest in this type of sound and in the development of this culture became increasingly greater.
As his taste for these sounds and the art of djing was always intense, after being away from "mixes" for a long period for various reasons, he returned some years ago through the creation of an online podcast under the name " Floating Beats Sessions”. This podcast ended up being extended and giving rise to two radio shows broadcast weekly on several online radios across the the globe. DJ Joshua also regularly collaborates and participates in various podcasts or as a guest on other radio shows around the world. He also have regular series of mixes online, such as “Seven Deadly Sins Series”, “Chromatic Circle Series”, “Techno for Your Heads” or “Are you ready for classics... let's hear”.
