The Death of Space, and Time
And so, rich frames straddled wonder there, upon a Northern Wasted Star.
They claimed to fall under time abundant, and cradled life like pale abandon.
So here, and hear the echoes trill, like birds to die do never seek a bough of freedom ever more.
Where member contains and constricts the mind, where thoughts abound in finite worlds.
Hail me to thy death upon the silent sea; its comforting, chastising voice, beckoned me once there.
Space is variable, mutant, gassy, and glows.
Like a Wendy House and a badger’s set, behind the woods, out of sight. 

The observable, unobserved.
He showed me a pink, erect, stagnant, void of space, when I was seven, on the day that Elvis died, and the swallows went back home.
When my mother left her mind, and disappeared down the rabbit hole.
Never to be seen again.
The space was inhabited yet not habitable.
With dirty windows and a broken white door.
With a minute mottled, wooden dresser, and fairy like cups, I drank from their mouths of babes. I choked, and gagged, and spewed, and went hungry.
Thunders raged on, like Lear on the heath, ‘Blow winds and crack your cheeks!’
Do we still reside in the Gothic North?

Of nature’s domains, and restrictive holds.
Magic, shadows, auras of light.
Sub-conscious streams upon a conscious, silvered stream.
Time just stopped.
Space inverted.
Stars exploded.
Worlds collided.
Brains melted.
Yet we awoke.
You can wake up, now - 
You can kill social media and your Artificial Intelligence.


You don’t have to live in that world – but you can, if you really have to.
You can sleep with a blue light filter, can you?
Do you really have to get up and go to the gym?
Or would you rather dig a veg plot, and keep chickens until the end of days.
Then you can climb the ladder.
You climb and climb until the ladder is no more, and you are suspended in space and time. 
You witness death and decay below you, and the decaying dream above you.
But it’s all just space and time.
It is all just an illusory space of time.
You are space and time.
You are enough as you are. Just be.

Death of Space and Time

Taken from my second book ‘Anthems’ out Spring 2021 on Amazon. Here I revisit historic poetry I played with 30 years ago, and add a contemporary note, whilst still attempting to remain sincere to the original poem. It’s an ode to Pearl Jam’s frontman Eddie Vedder, and feels relevant to add as he’s been a massive inspiration to me and influenced my creative style. I hope you enjoy. 

Dear Eddie
(1991)
My divine sorrow, is mine, all mine
I cannot dump it on you, though
I try, I try, I try
Lights all blazing sunrays
Halt the love I have
Darkness clouds all consciousness
All I have to give

Dear Eddie, why I fangirl love
Dear Eddie, can I tell, you, true?
How infatuated, me? You?

You made me feel Alive, Once
Without Jeremy
But I was left on the Porch
With your Yellow Ledbetter
But I can’t find a Better Man so
Why Go when your poetry sings
As Rats scuttle for a haven
I Yield to die in Ten as you
Read to me the Riot Act
While I court Corduroy pants
And a plaid cotton shirt with boots unlaced



Through the Even Flow of 
Amongst the Waves
In your back catalogue

You speak to me as I Am Mine
Yet I must not exist as a Nothingman
For I Hail Hail and 
Just Breathe into existence
As my love has No Ceiling
I just need to Bee Girl
And Thumb my Way Back to You
Come Back
From the Long Road
Besides painful Oceans

Married by Gardens
Nothing is Ever as it Seems
As I kick the Habit
It’s Hard to Imagine
As I Hold On to your wide-eyed stare

Dear Eddie part two!

A little snippet from Chapter One, 'The Lass and the Leveret,' a new children's novella, from the award-winning writer, Nix Moretta.

The Lass and the Leveret

Nix Moretta is a poet whom has just completed an MA in Creative Writing with Teesside University, England, UK.

Nix has been writing since childhood, and now, nearing 50, is a self confessed romantic with an esoteric, cosmic leaning!

Nix is an English lecturer, and lives a rather hermit's existence with two ageing ponies called Fez and Fudge, on a small farm in deepest, darkest Peru. No marmalade sandwiches required.

This is a new poem to be included in published texts later for 2020, early 2021, she would love to hear your thoughts.

Love Has Been Murdered

A poetic and quite traditionally written poem for my daughter Poppy.

This will form part of the content for my Kindle ebook to be released early 2021 on Amazon.

To sit in Spring and always hear her song.
To dance in Summer, regal, regale, rejoice in sight,
Her fragrant heart skips with delight,
A child of wonder.

Her eyes expose the honest truths in man.
With soul engaged upon a Herculean plan.
To live so free and liberated so,
Unlike her Mother, long ago.

And I as I sit and watch her grow,
From meadow toil, to Autumn glow.
I smile and raise my head awhile,
And catch her gazing with a silver smile.

With winter turning onwards haste,
All through the fields, we did but chase,
And as our journeys onward bound,
We slumbered softy on the ground.

To trees they call and whisper so,
Dear daughter, ‘Must you really go?’
Empyrean she exists upon the Earth,
A Delphic vision of beauty and love.

Among early morns of dew with love in orbit,
Trumpeting siren calls to times poetic,
A child from womb-like heaven she became,
A light-filled wonder never to be tamed.

And stood the gate erect and proud,
She exited, excited, exuberant and found,
Through faultless thoughts, timely, in place.
A being of freedom, liberty, and grace.

Hi Guys, an extended reading for you tonight, differing a little from previous uploads. The theme is about exploring the world of poetry in a windowless room, regarding how poets create the form, narrative, voice, structure, content and meaning via various remits. I discuss poetic devices, and offer descriptions to connected poetry, of such, links below. All of which are connected to the creation of the poem in today's reading, called, 'Indigo Child,' and is a poem written in the style of a 'ghazal.' I hope you are all safe and well and enjoy the reading. Thank you for listening. This one is for my darling son, Max, Nix x.

Indigo Child

Incarnated he came, a wanderer of the desert.
Reincarnated he remained, a keeper of indigo realms.

A merchant of spices and a trafficker of moons, 
Illuminating and aged, cloaked and indigo dark.

Bearing witness to Sumerian trails and,
Removing parchment fires through indigo ink.

Murmuring gentle tales of mirrored wisdom.
Bestowing hope filled wonder of light in indigo visions. 

Over watercourses carrying the dying and decayed. 
A Jubhal of quiet victory, bathed in indigo Gods. 

Numinous transcendences of the soul in errant flight. 
Gently sensing voices, hailing from indigo prayers. 

Equinoctial almanacs of minstrels on wild journeys, 
With lyres and flutes and pans of indigo drums.

Whitening shadows of pure Aquarian waves, and aware. 
A knowingness of being born, again, an indigo child.

Notes:

8 stanzas in an unrhymed couplet form ghazal with a repeated rediff, (repeated word or phrase). The capitalisation of every first word is intentional, whether or not it is grammatically incorrect, or forming part of a line break.

Nebulae

The Night Carnival and the Blue Wolf

Wood pillars of oaken dream like tastes clothed all in ceramic red shawls painted the fat olive-pitted moon that throned drunken stars

Cosmic shadows whispered poetic hymns on cirrus clouds of ash

Lost and found bags of love left by a dying wound with no scar under pallid pyres

Carried on nomadic backs through deserts of dead clocks and skies that bled their pain

Darkness rained in the lightest of caves spewed cold lava to mouths of embryonic spaceless vacuums 

Harlequined jesters ran rampant like boxing hares in burnt fields of corn

And the palmist sang odes to the living behind bloodied bed sheets with cleaved ghosts dressed all in stones

The carnival rang out in your cocked ears, pistol whipped and silent like mother’s ruin in the bottom of a cracked wedding glass

And the blue wolf in your mind ran to the edge of your life

(please note, it is poetic intention to leave out traditional punctuation)
