"The main inspiration for this mix came after a string of sunset to sunrise euphoric and heartfelt dancefloor moments at this years’ Love International festival in Croatia. I was lucky enough to go with my partner and some dear friends, one of whom (Pete) started a WhatsApp group to link all the queer people in attendance at the festival together overe the course of the week. Pete introduced and united some pretty special people, and the new friends we made quickly became to feel like old friends, feeling a love and sense of belonging like we’d already known each other for a lifetime.

This mix has a number of tracks that have similar energies to the feelings we experienced during the festival - calm yet uplifting to dance near the ocean in the heat of the day, vocals that expel you back into reality, and a general overarching feeling of love and celebration for all the people we are yet to and have already created life changing relationships with, and nostalgic for the memories we are still creating."

A familiar and prominent figure in Naarm dance and queer scene, @dawsdj has recently relocated to the UK and is proceeding to rip it up all over the EU just like we expected her to - prolifically.

Freshly moved from Melbourne to London, DAWS is already starting to make her mark in the capital. In her native Australia, she's cemented her name in the underground dance music and queer party scenes with her energetic, joy-filled sets that bridge her love of classic and contemporary house music.

Listening to her bright and punchy selections, you can tell she puts the fun front and centre; there's no room for seriousness and chin stroking round these parts.

This lightness and high-spirited outlook feeds into her own music too. Lockdown was the fuel to shift her focus on to production, and it was during these months where clubs were closed and events cancelled that she found a her voice as a producer and began to gain international recognition doing so. On top of original productions and remixes, which have been released on the likes of Rogue Cuts, Phenomena and Parry Talks, she shared a bunch of personal edits in her charity-focused ADHD series which unearth and rework some of her favourite pop tracks from the early noughties.

Next April will see her share her biggest work to date: a debut EP on Hot Haus Records which is primed for euphoric moments on the dance floor. As she gears up for the release, whilst keeping herself busy in the studio and gracing clubs across the UK and Europe, she pieces together a mix of playful electronics, bright house grooves and vibrant rhythmic excursions to get you through your working day...

Raised on a diet of equal parts Roulé, Crydamoure, NY boogie and the sample sonics of Madlib and Dilla, KC is not considered a newcomer at Numbers HQ.  He has been moving between Paris, London and Glasgow, guided through late night sessions with Spencer and Jackmaster via multiple studios, two stolen laptops and a heap of Parisian haze.

The main ingredients in Kool Clap's kit are his keen ear for a sample, classic drum boxes, EMU SP-1200's and tweaked out analogue synths - including the presence of the very Korg Trident that provided the bassline to Braxe and Bangalter's Stardust megahit 'Music Sounds Better With You'.

For our final record of the year, we turn to Glasgow's man of the year - Denis Sulta.

Like a good chunk of the Numbers family, he has earnt his stripes working at the coalface of techno aka Rubadub. He has crafted two excellent twelves for our bare-chested cousins at Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and is beginning to carve himself out a reputation as a DJ of some repute, expertly blending in the bangers with Sulta-certified weirdness. Denis is part of a new wave of Glaswegian artists who are doing amazing things and whose music is continuously exciting us.

‘It’s Only Real’ created by Sulta during a burst of inspiration one Sunday, takes us back to a time when techno was intricately melodic but still kicked hard in the club. Made with only the purest of intentions and a dedication to the art of moving heads and feet.
