This song is about Beowulf, an epic poem written a thousand years ago. It tells the story of a man who rips off a monster's arm, battles a swamp hag, and slays a dragon.

Lyrics:
In the great mead hall of Heorot, lived Danish warriors so distraught. The monster Grendel laid siege for 12 years, so every night was filled with fear.

A hero named Beowulf said he could help, and vowed to fight the beast all by himself. And when Grendel attacked one night, Beowulf rose to the fight.

In a fearsome battle so grand,
Beowulf and Grendel fought hand to hand,
In the brawl, Grendel's arm was torn out,
While Beowulf gave a triumphant shout.

Grendel fled home but soon died,
With his loving mother by his side,
Grendel's mother sought revenge,
So that her son's death could be avenged.

She attacked the hall and stole the king's man,
So Beowulf made a search plan,
He tracked her to an eerie lake,
Filled with monsters and sea snakes.

Grendel's mother lived in a midnight cave,
But Beowulf was bold and brave,
He slew her with a magic sword,
And took Grendel's head as a reward.

He returned to the hall victorious,
And Hrothgar's warriors were joyous,
Their terror was finally at an end,
And Beowulf became a legend.
