The Jallianwala Bagh massacre, also known as the Amritsar massacre, took place on 13 April 1919. A large peaceful crowd had gathered at the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab, to protest against the Rowlatt Act and arrest of pro-independence activists Saifuddin Kitchlew and Satyapal. In response to the public gathering, the temporary Brigadier general, R. E. H. Dyer, surrounded the protesters with his Gurkha, Baloch, Rajput and Sikh from 2-9th Gurkhas, the 54th Sikhs and the 59th Scinde Rifles of British Indian Army. The Jallianwala Bagh could only be exited on one side, as its other three sides were enclosed by buildings. After blocking the exit with his troops, he ordered them to shoot at the crowd, continuing to fire even as the protestors tried to flee. The troops kept on firing until their ammunition was exhausted. Estimates of those killed vary between 379 and 1500+ people and over 1,200 other people were injured of whom 192 were seriously injured. Responses polarised both the British and Indian peoples. This incident shocked Rabindranath Tagore, an Indian polymath and the first Asian Nobel laureate, to such an extent that he renounced his knighthood.

The massacre caused a re-evaluation by the British Army of its military role against civilians to "minimal force whenever possible", although later British actions during the Mau Mau rebellion in the Kenya Colony have led historian Huw Bennett to comment that the new policy could be put aside. The army was retrained and developed less violent tactics for crowd control. The level of casual brutality, and lack of any accountability, stunned the entire nation,[ resulting in a wrenching loss of faith of the general Indian public in the intentions of the United Kingdom. The attack was condemned by the Secretary of State for War, Winston Churchill, as "unutterably monstrous", and in the UK House of Commons debate on 8 July 1920 Members of Parliament voted 247 to 37 against Dyer. The ineffective inquiry, together with the initial accolades for Dyer, fuelled great widespread anger against the British among the Indian populace, leading to the non-cooperation movement of 1920–22. Some historians consider the episode a decisive step towards the end of British rule in India. Britain has never formally apologised for the massacre but expressed "deep regret" in 2019

Bedouindrone - Jallianwala - Bagh

On 7 April 2018, the city of Douma, Syria, was targeted by two chemical weapons attacks. At that time, the city and its surrounding areas had been under siege by the Syrian military since 2013. At least 70 people died in the attacks, according to reports.

Two distinctive yellow canisters, similar to those previously linked to chlorine gas attacks across Syria, were found following the strikes: one on a rooftop balcony near to Al Shuhada square, and the other in a bedroom at an unknown location in the city.

The Bab-el-Mandeb   is a strait between Yemen on the Arabian Peninsula, and Djibouti and Eritrea in the Horn of Africa. It connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden.

When the man-made Suez Canal opened in 1869, it created a link between the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. Consequently, the Bab-El-Mandeb Strait became even more important and is now considered one of the most vital gateways of maritime transport.

The rivalry for control of the Bab-El-Mandeb Strait and the Red Sea is part of a greater regional conflict between Iran and its Shi’ite allies and Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, and their Sunni allies.

Rafah camp, established in 1949, is located in the south of Gaza, near the Egyptian border. In the year after Rafah camp was created, thousands of refugees moved from the camp to a nearby housing project at Tel El-Sultan, making the camp almost indistinguishable from the adjacent city.

Originally home to 41,000 refugees who had fled from the hostilities of the 1948 war, Rafah is now home to more than 104,000 refugees. High population density is a major problem, with people living in crowded shelters along extremely narrow streets.


The blockade on Gaza has made life more difficult for many refugees in the camp. However, since the “adjustment” to the blockade, Gaza witnessed a construction boom due to the illegal materials entering Gaza through the tunnels with Egypt enriching some people in the camp.

However, unemployment levels remain very high, leaving a staggering proportion of the population dependent on UNRWA’s food and cash assistance. Basic hygiene is also of great concern in the camp, where 90 per cent of the water is unfit for human consumption.

First off i have to say a big Big thank you to my Son Rob for his great idea about the Pick up truck. Thanks Rob :-)  It really has added a new dimension to this little ole country tune . This is a real real " Pick me up Song " :-) The song is a  follow on song to "The Road" & " Ordinary guy. A song of Hope & friendship with a little sprinkling of Spirituality thrown in.  We all need someone to help us when we are down or Lost and in this song the " Pick up truck " symbolizes a friend or a spiritual belief. Something that we can relay on to help us through  the bad times. Just like an old pick up trunk sturdy & Reliable & Always goes the distance.

This is my whimsical impression of moving through dream states.

At some point during our REM state,
we may move from free floating imagery
to suddenly crystalizing within a lucid state...while it lasts.

Upon this startling realization,
that nothing could seem so real,
it also begins to appear
that this new reality soon slips back 
into the mundane fare of dreamscapes...

and suddenly we arrive in Alpha,
when we are realigning with consensus reality,
where we believe everyone is sharing the same dream.

As Raewyn ventures along the dark tunnel towards the Portal, she seems to hear whispered warnings echoing around her. Despite her trepidation, she slowly enters, but not before calling on the Ancient Ones to guide her through.

Inside the entrance she encounters the evil & terrifying Tresur Heldros, The Master of the Abyss and, as he speaks, she can hear the wails and laments of tortured souls who ventured there before her. 

However, Raewyn's Elven faith is unconquerable, and, as she bravely prepares to meet whatever fate awaits her, she remembers her ancient teachings.

Chained in a cave by the abyss, she patiently waits....
