With the release of his new double album Between the Candle and the Star Ophidian returns to his roots. Between the Candle and the Star is the third Ophidian-album. Previous albums featured sidesteps to other genres, but this time the conscious decision was made to stick to the pure, raw hardcore with which he made his name in the past decennium.

The album title refers to the place humans inhabit in the universe. Ophidian: "The candle is a tiny light, the star the largest we know. We exist somewhere in between." For this album he has teamed up with known acts like Ruffneck, Tapage and The Outside Agency, but also spent quality studio time with new collaborators like Tha Playah and Minckz.

Also featured are remixes of his tracks by among others Rude Awakening and The Viper. He himself worked on remixes for DJ Promo, Angel and Miss Hysteria. On the album, disc 1 features mainly the brand new songs and collabs, and disc 2 is a collection of the remixes and tracks recently released on other labels.

Door de jaren heen experimenteren met verschillende geluiden, stromingen. En live-act's ontwikkelen, heeft er toe geleid dat het live project, Scorpion Hoplite is geboren. optredend sinds 2011 op verschillende plaatsen in Nederland. En met iedere ervaring steeds meer groeiend in de live act performance, garandeert deze act een vernieuwend optreden in de genre's: Industrial Hardcore, Terror en Frenchcore. Met kicks die zo hard, en rauw zijn als een gedisciplineerde hoplite. En zo snel als de steek van een schorpioen.

Deze act bestaat uit een verzameling van professionele apparatuur, waarin een onvoorbereide berg van unieke sound, sequence, en sample elementen zitten, waaruit tijdens het optreden een ordelijke chaos van ritme, distorsie, en klanken word uitgesmeden. Wat op die manier ieder optreden anders, en uniek maakt. 

Ook de kenmerkende Corinthische hoplite helm uit de oudheid, kan tijdens deze live performance niet ontbreken, want ook dat is een atribuut wat deze act een compleet gezicht geef.

Joining forces since 2012, these 3 weirdo's found their way in the scene with their own style and sound.
That resulted in performances in various places and big radio-stations in the Netherlands as well as international bookings in Germany and Switserland.
Their personal favorites being recorded with a Gopro and edited in their in-famous "roadtrip movies" on Youtube by "Structure Media".

With the start of Hard infantry in 2012, that also marked the birth of their radio-show called "Hard infantry Live Session".
Which started on Hardsoundradio in the UK and later on, on Gabber.fm in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. There they are heard every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 20:00 - 22:00 CET.

Their journey has just started and they are ambitious for bigger stages in the future, so keep an eye out for these wacko's, because they are coming for you on the Audio-battlefront.
