The other day at SIN (with GehLekTek LIVE, IllTek LIVE, TingelTangelTek LIVE, Gloria Gloriette), I kinda tasted blood - a fresh wind is blowing in the ACID Tek sector - Europe-wide - and Austria seems to be leading the way here too besides heavy weight FreeTek-scenes as you can find in France for instance: The actual music production & compositing is quite often done via Fruity Loops (which is not meant pejoratively at all, quite the opposite), though the pure & hardcore-nerd-faction has acquired a lot of analogue synths & other hardware in the last decades too (especially Euroracks / Modular Synths) - and as all proper nerds know: More hardware is always a good thingy, to claim the opposite is an oxymoron. The industrial heart starts beating faster & higher - AND - the raw industrial influence interestingly often also provides a kind of throttled Tempo-framework with high dynamic ranges - "Off The Grid" - if you want to call it that - or in other words: real ressurrected "LIVE Impro" for the heated dancefloors (and I'm not talking about "slight changes", I literally mean the creation of new tacks LIVE) - an extremely interesting synergy in my opinion. The now unfortunately already disappeared - but very tone-setting Maschinenfest in Oberhausen had foreshadowed it for more than a decade: TEK flows practically unstoppable in all techno underground directions again neatly pure, accompanied by grandpa "Industrial", and through the mind-set of PostCOVID this was almost pre-programmed. Industrial never died - and will never disappear - ever (it's a mindset). It always kept evolving within the Underground realms, and now and then it also strikes hard into mainstream-attitudes. I even tend to resurrect "Avant Garde" as proper semantics here.
