My compositions, and other artist's compositions that I arrange, do not conform to any genre. Its classification is post-genre which is music beyond any description. In fact, the artist becomes the genre. My compositions are heavily influenced by progressive rock, post-rock, and classical music. My most Influential composers/musicians are Tony Banks, Richard Wright, Jeff Lynne, Steve Hackett, David Gilmour, Robert Fripp, Phil Collins, Keith Moon, Erik Satie, Claude Debussy, and Modest Mussorgsky.

After graduating college in 2019, and following a drought of creative energy, Larissa Hanson and Noah Reed began channeling similar frustrations relating to their own relationships, work, and mental health into an entirely new endeavour for either artist.

Linear Process comprises the wistful nature of Hanson’s songwriting, and Reed’s detail-oriented approach to production.

As a solo artist, Hanson has an ongoing series of albums, Sad Songs, which deal primarily with heartache, love, and toxic relationships. She continues these themes with Reed, whose songwriting leans more into the metaphorical, and whose solo work blends folk- and prog-rock aesthetics. When combined with Hanson’s poppy, singer-songwriter approach, the nuanced and varied sound of Linear Process is created.
