I have a huge favor to ask of you (no purchase or donation required)!

I’m currently putting together an instrumental project that will be released in Korea. A lot of the beats on it have been previously released on various projects though my bandcamp/soundcloud pages, but I want to retitle some of these tracks, and some tracks I’ve never officially given titles to. Only problem is, I have no idea what to call these tracks.

This is where you come in…

I’m seeking your assistance in suggesting titles for these 6 beats. I’m not aiming for any theme in particular. I’m curious to see what you come up with based on what you hear or envision. All I’m asking is that you post a comment on the tracks that you suggest names for.

“What do I get out of this?” you ask?

Well, if I like your title and I use it for my project, I will give you:

*Written acknowledgment on the project crediting you with titling the track

*A free copy of the finished project (which I don’t plan to put on bandcamp, but even if I do, you will get it for free before everyone else, who will have to pay for it *evil laughter*)

Where ever you are in the world, we hope you are enjoying yourself. It's holiday season here in the States and we are feeling grateful for an amazing year of music and inspiration despite all the negativity going on outside of music. 

For our 13th edition of our White Label Series we have our good brother oriJanus who we have been connecting with since the beginning of our time. If there is one word we can describe to represent OJ it would be a perfectionist. This is one of those organic connections that we wanted to let fall into place on it's own and here we are. Representing Bakersfield, CA, this young 21 year old recently took the leap from his hometown in Bakersfield to Los Angeles and it's exciting to see how far he has come. 

It was a few months back at our Stussy collab party where we realized that he's got next. He hit us with this crazy remix of the classic So:Ho "Hot Music" and we knew we and to build something off of it. We hope you enjoy his take on sampling and fusing it together with his signature-hard hitting rhythms.

You may be familiar with Sivey from his collaborative record with Evil Needle, 'Constructive Interference', released on Soulection in summer of 2014 or you may have caught one of his uptempo, dreamy DJ sets in and around London.

The Manchester-based producer who seamlessly combines a number of varied aesthetics with his unique, moody synth progressions comes correct with the 17th installation in our White Label Series.

In a cohesive 4-part story, Sivey takes us through slow jams, house and future sounds with broken rhythm grooves reminiscent of jazz fusion.

"I chose these tracks because I felt they represent a good mixture of my influences and styles I like to experiment with” Sivey told us.

Sivey creates his moody sounds using FL Studio and enjoys the challenge of pushing the boundaries of how midi can be used to create live sounding music.

’14年に解散した日本が世界に誇るアフロ・ビート・バンドKingdom☆Afrocksのフロントマン＝☆.A/NAOITOが、長年の沈黙を破り新たなLIFE MUSICを解き放つ！待望のフル・レコーディング・アルバム『☆.A』をリリース！！

　1960年代後半にナイジェリアのFela Kutiが生み出したアフロ・ビート音楽。Felaの死後も、アフリカ、アメリカ、イギリス、そしてここ日本にもその影響とスピリットは継承され進化を続けている。今年に入りRobert GlasperプロデュースによるFelaの末息Seun Kutiのアルバム、そして長男Femi Kutiのアルバムがリリースされる等、更なる注目度が高まる中、2014年に解散した日本が世界に誇るアフロ・ビート・バンドKingdom Afrocksのフロントマン＝☆.A/NAOITOが、その沈黙を破る待望のフル・アルバム『☆.A 』を完成させ遂にリリースする。
　
　Kingdom Afrocks解散後、生活と音楽活動の拠点を東京から鎌倉へと移した☆.A/NAOITO。移住後、詩や歌にして表現するだけでは満足できなくなり、実践へと繋がる自らのイノベーションに木工を選び、大工の手元として働らき、その傍ら子を授かる等、様々な変化や成長、人間交流、音楽体験を育んできた。およそ１年間の歳月をかけて制作された本作『☆.A 』は、それら全ての経験が集約/昇華された音楽作品であり、ひとつのファインアートとしての輝きを放っている。

 アルバムには、今作品の共同プロデュースを担いFoolish Felixとのdedicationとしての活動でも世界的な評価の高いMikey Varrot (jazzysport/cinema caravan)、大工の親方でもありdedicationをはじめ様々な作品やLIVEに参画してきた鍵盤奏者"Bocchi"こと高橋雅裕、そしてKingdom☆Afrocks後期のホーンセクションをリードしたsax.KIDS＝橋本剛秀、同じくKingdom☆Afrocksでフリー＆スピリチュアルジャズなsaxを奏できた稲田貴貞、NAOITObandのドラムスを担当してきた和田KGらが参加。レコーディング・エンジニアには、Jazzsy Sport作品は元より、土岐麻子、cero、Suchmos、Fla$hBackS等の作品も手掛けている奥田泰次(studio MSR)を迎えている。

 かつてMile Davisが"未来の音楽"として語った二つの音楽がヒップホップとアフロビートであった。その音楽がこうしてまた新たに日本から発せられ、オーガニックでテクノなグルーヴと多幸感が世界へと拡散していく様をどうか見逃さないで欲しい。これは全てのLittle Drummer Boyへの讃歌であり、日本発の音楽という素敵なシュプレヒコールなのかもしれない。

In this walk often we feel the need to present ourselves “holy” without doing the necessary introspection for ACTUALLY becoming upright and holy before YAH. Be not like Joab just because he wasn’t recompensed immediately for being a sly murderer don’t mean his grey head went down in peace. There is, nonetheless, always room for repentance through Yahshua our Messiah. So look at yourself, be honest, acknowledge your faults and repent (turn away) from evil. Recall Matthew 5:22 and recall how on the love of Yah and love of our neighbors as ourselves hang all the law and prophets.
