No Author’s ICE is a definition of form, made during the past three years, channeling a cluster of influences towards an emergent sound. ICE began as a take on a leftover collaboration between 2wrist and Keenanfromlimbo but soon blossomed into a coherent sound, and now has become the defining position of “No Author”: a self-conscious emotionality, a bottomless darkness, a euphoric but meaningless scream.

The record began with Fee Fye, a single vocal over a breakbeat that was reworked time and again. Adopting tropes from trance, hardstyle, and post-club, and taking pointers from contemporary artists such as Evian Christ, The Empire Line, and Ben Frost, “ICE” reworks existing dance-music cliches, giving them new expression.

Keenanfromlimbo’s dominant vocals spread throughout the record channel these inspirations: from Fee Fye’s self-questioning, to Like I’m Supposed To’s meditations on love, ICE is like a heavy feeling stuck in time, frozen before it can be realized or felt.
