‘HTID: Heaven-sent Tekno Impakting Dancefloors, or Hardcore Till I Die’ is Calum Macleod and Liam Robertson’s third record for Electric Deluxe. As was the case with ‘Timeslip Roadmender’ and follow-up ‘An Outrageous Fate Type’, ‘HTID’ is a chomping, foaming, kinda nutty set of industrial techno-jungle half-breeds. They were happy party things once, a long long time ago, but after decades festering in a petri dish they turned mutant and multitudinous—which is why there are twice as many of them this time.

If a 4/4 pummelling is your thing, “Dinner At Skinja’s” has you covered. “Quest Posse Wanted” meanwhile is bullet-riddled breakbeat, and “Fallout”? That’s the sound of rave resurrected, rewound and rolled back out again. “Rush In 2 Orbit (Skinnergate)” shows off the pair’s abstract side, which a track like “Panosonics” lashes things down into something more club friendly. Stick “Knuckles’ Heavy Vanguard” on to get the masses motivated, then drop “Base Damage” to show ‘em you mean business. Once everyone’s knees are good and swollen, float “Floatation Advice” as a peace offering, which actually is anything but.

The limited run of 300 vinyl pressings come with a special sticker sheet designed by David Rudnick.

في بداية الثمانينات، أحمد مالك في خمسيناته اكتشف الموسيقى الإلكترونية و بدأ بتجربتها في أغانيه. هذه الأغاني لم تعرف الجمهور بعد، و قد حصلنا على مجموعة منها من طرف عائلته، و نحن جد سعيدين بتقديمها و تقديم هذا الوجه الجديد من موسيقى أحمد مالك. لقد تم إعدادها و ساهم في إنتاجها المنتج الألماني " فلاكو "، المولع بالموسيقي الالكترونية و ال synth. 
هذا ليس البوم رميكس، فقد سعي " فلاكو " لانتاج البوم مدته ساعتين، مكون من اغاني شبيهة بما كانت سوف تكون عليه أغاني أحمد مالك لو أنتجها بنفسه قبل مماته. 
الألبوم بموافقة تامة من عائلة الفقيد.

In the early 1980s, Ahmed Malek was already in his 50s, when he discovered synthesizers and electronic music for himself and started to experiment with sounds. None of it was ever released but we got a huge box of master tapes from his family and we're happy to present this different side of Ahmed Malek's music. It was compiled and co-produced by Flako, a fan of early electronic and synth music. This is not a remix album though, Flako's aim was to create an album out of 2 hours of material that sounds like it might have if Mr. Malek would have finished it himself before of his death. Fully approved by the artists family.

@utahmusic returns to Symbols this February with the Nitrogen EP, the Sheffield-based artist’s elemental follow-up to 2015’s Oxygen. Working on the fringes of what has become codified as instrumental grime, Utah? boils down the rhythmic swing of garage and a hi def synth aesthetic into a potent, emotive concoction that exists just outside of the borders of both worlds. Fans of radio shows like Boxed on Rinse and Chow Down on NTS will surely recognize the sound employed on Nitrogen, a heady balance of cinematic extraction and purposeful movement with tracks like “Jackal” and “Closure” sketching out vivid worlds in fine brushstrokes.

A UK record at its core, Nitrogen fits into a long narrative of on-the-cusp British dance music, employing mastery of past forms to create something new altogether. It’s also Utah? at his most confident, eschewing bombast for a fine tuned edge that pings between anxiety, sorrow and triumph as the record moves along. It also functions in the margins between the digital and human spaces, retaining an organic core despite its high tech construction, laser-guided basslines and haunted melodic quotient. Like the vast majority of the Symbols catalogue, expect to move and be moved by Nitrogen.
