Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Thursday morning (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud GO tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks that have been previously submitted and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Sam is a musician, composer, audio engineer and producer based in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire.

Having played guitar and drums since he was a child—and written, recorded and mixed music since 2012–Sam’s skill set is both refined and wide-ranging.

He has provided music for TV shows throughout the world, had commercial releases broadcast across BBC Radio, and performed with his band Is Bliss at various festivals, including Robert Smith’s Meltdown at the South Bank Centre.

During the first lockdown, Sam began honing his singer-songwriter chops, later releasing a number of topical singles with his new outfit, No Deal Disco.

He has a master’s degree in Music Production.

‘Summer’ the new single from Lewis McLaughlin is a testament to the simple joys of being young, having few cares in the world, whatever the weather. It brings musical escapism - asking us to leave our worries in the house and enjoy a moment with others in the sun. It draws influence from traditional forms and filters them with a contemporary lens to blend alt folk and rock into something unique.

A choir of Lewis’ rich musical network gels the track; “the song has always been very strongly focused on inclusion, community and togetherness. I hope that comes across in this version and the music video.” 

It was recorded in Glasgow where he currently lives. He is 20 years old and was inspired by the likes of John Martyn and Villagers to begin writing and recording his own songs.

Locked In / Sterile Spring is the latest release from Bloom's Taxonomy's forthcoming album 'Foley Age'. This atmospheric electronic track starts in the claustrophobic confines of the subconscious, and transitions into epic space age techno.

No Deal Disco is the solo project of big southern softie, Sam Paul Robinson, who writes snarky guitar-driven songs about all the things that piss on his biscuits – namely wars, bigots and job hunting. Sam describes himself as a “passionate songwriter but reluctant frontman”. His lyrics are laced with nefarious left-wing concepts such as empathy, accountability and hope.
