WALK ?! Qu'est-ce que c'est que ça ?!

Né d’une envie commune de faire connaître des nouveaux artistes qui en valent la peine, le collectif WALK a vu le jour à l’initiative de deux jeunes passionnés de musique électronique, François & Esteban. Grâce à l’organisation d’événements, la promotion sur les réseaux sociaux et la recherche de dates, ils se sont fixé le but d’épauler les artistes et de les faire évoluer dans le monde de la musique électronique. Le but n’est d’ailleurs pas le profit puisque tous les bénéfices engendrés lors des événements sont utilisés pour la promotion et l’organisation des événements suivants.

Malgré son tout jeune âge, le collectif a déjà eu l’occasion d’organiser son premier anniversaire au Studio 22, en invitant le producteur gantois AMyn, du label Moodfamily, mais aussi d’inviter des artistes tels que Felix Cage, Daniel[i], Steve Slight, Nico Morano ou encore le légendaire Fabrice Lig au Reflektor à Liège. Comme vous l’aurez sans doute remarqué, le désir du collectif est de garder une affiche 100% belge en privilégiant la venue d’un artiste confirmé entouré d’autres en devenir.

Il est important de mentionner ici le rôle de L’Escalier Café à Liège, sans lequel WALK n’aurait pas pu évoluer de la sorte. En effet, cet illustre bar du Carré offre l’opportunité aux jeunes collectifs de s’exprimer et de tester leurs projets. Le succès des évènements WALK provient aussi probablement dans la grande ouverture musicale du concept qui mise sur la diversité avec ses deux résidents : DESK & Great Junk. Deux artistes pour deux styles différents : l’un techno progressive aux longues lignes de basse et arpèges bien ficelés et l’autre disco-house au groove très funky.

Alex Haw runs Fox&Badge, a community and artistic experiment in a collective utopia, yearning towards transcendence.

Previously: Alex Haw is and artist/architect & director of atmos.

atmos is an award-winning multidisciplinary  art+architecture+design practice (est. 2007) that works internationally across scales and media - from small-scale product-design to large-scale master-plans, with core expertise in public installations and bespoke residential environments. 

Their work centres on innovative sculptural designs that often incorporate cutting-edge digital fabrication and data mapping. They creat work addressing all the senses, with projects that reward close inspection yet abide in the memory, merging meaning and sensuality.

They have exhibited widely and been widely published on TV (BBC, Channel 4), in national newspapers (Financial Times, Sunday Times, Telegraph, Guardian, Independent, etc.) and international design magazines (Icon, Dezeen, Wallpaper, WIRED, Blueprint etc.). 
Haw graduated with a Fulbright from Princeton and a 1st from the Bartlett.

Alex has taught Design Studios at the Architectural Association, Cambridge University, the Royal College of Art and TU Vienna. He graduated on a Fulbright from Princeton University and with a 1st from the Bartlett, UCL. He writes and lectures widely.

He played the lead psycho in Chris Nolan's 1st feature film, Following.
He runs a weekly social exploration of world food (Latitudinal Cuisine).
