Born in Buenos Aires and currently based in Montreal (CA), Jaijiu is an audiovisual artist influenced by the Argentine club sound, as well as its folklore and cumbia. His productions approach the rhythm in an edgy way, mixing his roots with current influences.

This release is intended for an imaginary and confined dance floor. It is danceable, while groundbreaking and uncomfortable, as the audio is pushed to the limit in search of drowning out all thoughts in volume and excess. In Jaijiu's words, “the louder it gets, the less I hear what's in my head.”

“42 AM” captures the distorted sound of our previous releases, but also brings kuduro, Latin music and noise to the table. It will be available as digital download via Nodo Label.

Conceived as an ecotonal space where the multiple sonic reinterpretations of the composition can converge, we are pleased to present the first compilation of EKŌ, a platform inspired by the essence of the spatial and acoustic propagation of rhythmic and experimental phenomena. Which seeks to share through this selection different ideas and creative sensibilities around experimental dancefloor. Where it is sought that, through the value of sharing in equitable and diverse ways, it is motivated to generate changing, thinking and sensitive spaces from, to and with what happens in the world and on the dance floor.

EKŌ baste together and puts in dialogue the personal universes of each creator in this compilation, also as a presentation of what EKŌ is and intends to generate, allowing us to access those meeting points that occur beyond the physical.

Tokyo-based producer and DJ Wrack is one of the hardest working peers in the club scene.
Affiliated with Mexico’s NAAFI and numerous other progressive labels around the globe, his tracks have been used in DJ sets by almost everyone in the know as powerful tools.
“Ice Effect” marks his fourth EP for 2022 and showcases the Japanese producer’s unique take on Dancehall. The 4 tracks beat around the 100 BPM tempo mark and manage to create an equally-balanced cold and distant, yet colourful and welcoming world, mirroring the image of an alien flower flawlessly preserved in ice, as depicted on the record’s artwork.

Opening title track sets an eery tone with an icy synth backed by a stomping kick and Reggaeton snare rolls, followed by the dreamy keys of Midnight Sun, contrasting its chants, marching laser shots and energetic beat. Euphoric pads and distant bells compliment Astral Body’s bubbling riddim driven by highly pitched toms, while closing track Loston’s gliding and rolling percussion create a tribal, almost primitive bounce, arranged over an oriental air instrument loop.
