Walla P is recognized as one of Funk’s modern ambassadors, thanks to his expertly-curated selections, bridging Modern Funk with late 70's/early 80's Boogie-Disco-Funk . The Montreal native stands behind Voyage Funktastique, a global brand that encompasses a record label. a radio show and a monthly live event, since 2013. 

Armed with a profound love of all things funky, Walla shares his passion through classic cuts and rare grooves, as he journeys effortlessly from Boogie/Disco to Modern Funk, and everywhere in between. Over the last few years, he  performed in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Mexico, Toronto, Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Nantes, Strasbourg, Brussels, Lausanne, Geneva, Madrid, Zagreb, Innsbruck, Copenhaguen, Amsterdam, Berlin, Cologne et Frankfurt, opened/played with DâM-Funk, Kaytranada, Pomo, Onra, Peanut Butter Wolf & Breakbot.  He's been invited to perform on Boiler Room and at festivals such as Lost Village, Hip Opsession, Osheaga, Piknic Electronik, Igloofest, Festival d'Été de Québec, POP Montréal, NXNE, C2 Montréal, 24HOV, M For Montreal & Montreal International Jazz Festival.

Biography :

It came as quite a shock when The Avener’s Fade Out Lines rocketed to number 1 in the German iTunes charts. It had been a long time indeed since a French artist had achieved that kind of success in Germany, especially with such a startling single. The triumph of Fade Out Lines opened a door onto a unique and yet instantly familiar world. Its irresistible, sophisticated rhythms conjured up a dual image of lovers ending up on the quays of the Seine at daybreak, and of an urban club funk beat.
Since then, the single’s phenomenal success has proved contagious, confirming The Avener’s prime intention: to travel the frontiers between genres, periods and styles; between the music we listen to and the music we dance to; between underground and high-end pop. As The Avener says himself: “Fade Out Lines is hard to define. It’s blues with jazz, folk and funk influences, and electronic instruments. It has feelings, emotion and nostalgia, but a lot of energy, too.”
It perfectly reflects his upcoming album, The Wanderings Of The Avener, a sophisticated electro manifesto in the spirit of St Germain and his Boulevard’s nu-jazz sampling, reconciling the styles of Moby and Wankelmut, King Britt and Cassius...
The ghost producer of many club hits, Tristan became The Avener when he decided to re-embrace the pleasure of music for its own sake, his early love of piano and melodies, his rich, eclectic, multilayered musical culture and deep house – an antidote to the mechanical chill that has crept into electro over the last few years.
Tristan shut himself away in the studio for months. “I began to rework old tracks that went unnoticed at the time, giving them a more modern feel...” He was determined to achieve a perfect balance: a mixture of acoustic and electro combining songwriting science with the intuition of a dance-floor specialist. And while The Avener wrote his own music, The Avener also covered Sixto Rodriguez, John Lee Hooker, Mazzy Star, The Be Good Tanyas, Andy Bey and Adam Cohen in a mosaic of seminal blues, underground folk, nocturnal pop, ironic rock and the work of forgotten artists from the 70s and 80s, exploring secret paths of memory. His sampling of Phoebe Killdeer & the Short Straws’ The Fade Out Line, a foretaste of the album, was quietly uploaded in summer 2013. It steadily gathered momentum by word of mouth in France before going massive in Germany and then all around the world.
The Avener’s delicate, radiant style has been welcomed as a So French Touch of Elegance and acclaimed as the missing link between harmonic emotion and the urge to dance worldwide. Confirmation of this triumph looks certain with the release of his first album, The Wanderings of the Avener, out on January 19, 2015.

of YouTube and TikTok catching your attention with their infectious avant pop, bold
over the top visuals and gaming inspired looks that have gained the group a cult
following over the years
Hailing from Liverpool, UK, Stealing Sheep are a trio of Becky, Emily and Lucy -
friends and bandmates of 15 years who have fearlessly carved out their own brand of
pop championed through fan art and deep cut devotion. Drawing inspiration from
everything ranging from online Therian and cosplay communities to multidisciplinary
art of Jeremy Deller, KLF and Tracey Emin, Stealing Sheep presents a kaleidoscopic
sonic manifesto that is addictive with its oddball pop and explosive aesthetics. Their
self-described ‘visual pop’ might not have topped the charts, but it’s fuelled a
dedicated cult following (shoutout to the 6 Music dads keeping the faith!). Now, they’re back with a new album (GLO - Girl Life Online) and a new label (G-IRL - Girl In Real Life) - both marking a bold new era for Stealing Sheep. Produced by Joe
Wills at Nan’s House Studio, the new chapter presents a quintessentially
idiosyncratic blend of musical inspirations ranging from medieval electronic pop to
rave pop, UK garage, and PC music. Unapologetically both otherworldly and DIY, the new album and the launch of their
own label marks a new era for Stealing Sheep: it’s a declaration of independence
and a creative movement pulsating with kaleidoscopic joy and determination to bring

Voyage Funktastique is a radio show, a label, and a monthly night, dedicated to Modern/Boogie Funk. Based out of Montreal, Canada, Walla P & Dr.MaD founded Voyage Funktastique in 2013, and have since then, performed in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, and shared the stage with Kaytranada, Pomo, Onra, Peanut Butter Wolf & DâM-FunK. They also performed on Boiler Room, and festivals such as Lost Village, Igloofest, Piknic Electronik, Osheaga, M For Monteal, POP Montreal, and Montreal International Jazz Festival. 

The radio show, hosted by Walla P, airs on the 3rd Sunday of the month 6PM (EDT), and is presented by Prime Source. 

The monthly night is held at Le Belmont ; it is considered as one of the most busiest & best dance floor in the city.
